This magnificent dress has no label, but it sure looks like an Emma Domb to us. 1950s strapless gown in dotted swiss cream organdy covered with a splashing of floral bouquets in pinks, lavender and pale olive. Boning in the bust gives the bodice a secure structure with a classic 50s silhouette. Light ochre taffeta trims the strapless neckline and continues behind the dress where it frames the lower back and creates a large bustle bow that falls to the hem. The skirt is very full, has a pointed V at the waist, is trimmed in horse hair at the hem for fullness, and has a bias cut demi train. The bodice is lined in white taffeta and there is a taffeta slip followed by a white cotton muslin slip under the skirt. Closure is a back metal zipper and hook and eye. Photographed over an additional petticoat, not for sale.
