In this post I'm going to outline a simple and affordable solution for studio stacking. I originally put this together as a demo setup for use in a studio stacking workshop* my friend Stanislav and me arranged recently. For this purpose, I wanted something that met the following conditions: a) did not cost a lot of money b) did not require some exotic but vital component that requires weeks of hunting on eBay c) did not involve any elaborate DIY project The contraption you're looking at was very quickly assembled and its ingredients are either easily available "off the shelf" items or used components that can be replaced by some equivalent piece of gear that you may already have laying around or can easily get a hold of. As a reference I'll list some of the prices (including shipping) I paid for these items. Except for the Proxxon-table, these were all things that were already in my possession and not specifically bought for this purpose. Proxxon-table, €80 (new) Bellows: €14 (used) Soldering stand: €7 (new) LED-spot: €10 (new) Konica Hexanon 40/1.8: €6 (used) Olympus Zuiko Auto-Macro 50/3.5: €22 (used) Below I will elaborate some more on the setup and show a few samples.
