Jaws 2-A Rare Original Vintage Teaser Movie Poster for the Sequel to the Amity Island Thriller JAWS with Roy Scheider, Lorraine Gary, and Murray Hamilton. Four years after the traumatic episodes at Amity Island, summer tourists begin to disappear again. Chief Brody is concerned thinking there just might be another great white on the loose. This Ultra Rare Original Vintage "Teaser" Poster for JAWS 2 has the most memorable "Tagline" in the history of Movie Posters: "Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water..." Three different Teaser posters were produced for this movie. All three have the exact same art of a great white shark's dorsal fin slicing through a seascape of a choppy ocean at sunset. This Poster is the 1st Teaser produced by the studio and the most valuable. Note on the 1st Teaser there is no date only the tagline at the top and the film's title at the bottom. This poster was issued to theaters to market the film as a coming attraction while the movie was still in post-production and a firm release date had not been set. The 2nd Teaser has a release date that states: "Coming to Theaters everywhere June 16th" just under the film's title "Jaws 2". This poster is also highly coveted but slightly less valuable as there are more of them and collectors generally agree less text over the poster's "Seascape" artwork is more desirable. The 3rd Teaser was issued with the release date and an additional Text Tag of "ALL NEW" just over the title "JAWS 2" This was done when the movie-going public got confused and thought the original "Jaws" movie was returning for a re-release. This has happened several times over the years with sequel movies, most notably with "Tarzan & His Mate" in 1934, which had virtually the same "ALL NEW" text box. The 1st version has no date, the 2nd version has an opening date and the 3rd has the date and "All New" in a box above the title. All of these B Style Teaser posters are highly valued making them the most collectible of all the JAWS 2 posters. As evidenced in the photo log, there are (3) horizontal folds made when originally shipped from the printer. The poster was "tri-folded" horizontally and has some normal light wear along those folds. There are several light creases scattered throughout as seen in the Photo detail. Lithographs with light creasing at folds are common for posters of this age as they were mailed to theaters folded (See Photo detail). IMPORTANT Additional Information: Three different Teaser posters were produced for this movie. All three have the exact same artwork of a great white shark's dorsal fin slicing through a choppy seascape at sunset. This is the 1st Teaser produced by the studio and the most valuable. Note on the 1st Teaser, there is no date only the tagline at the top and the film's title at the bottom. This poster was issued to theaters to market the film as a coming attraction while the movie was still in post-production and a firm release date had not been set. This poster is highly valued as collectors generally agree less text over the poster's "Seascape at Sunset" image is more desirable. Magnets were used in the photography of these posters so as to limit handling and wear. These magnets are silver and visible in photographs in each of the poster's (4) corners. Please Note: These Posters are anywhere from 20-70 years old and were issued to movie theaters at the time of the film's release. All Posters came through Auction, Gallery purchase, or from the original movie theater proprietors. Although all posters are stored FLAT and carefully maintained, original poster art of this age can never be in perfect unused condition as it was originally displayed in a Movie Theater. Any Folds, Tears, or Pinholes are detailed in the notes and close-up pictures. Any glare in the image is due to the camera angle and is not a defect in the poster. There are NO REFUNDS, RETURNS, or EXCHANGE on the sale of original movie posters. Given the age and fragility of these vintage posters, it’s not possible to offer refunds after the poster has been shipped and handled. We've gone to great lengths to detail in notes and photographs the specifics of each poster's condition and individual attributes.
