After Finn Juhl’s rise to stardom in American design circles in the 1950s, he became increasingly inspired by his American colleagues. None more so than Charles & Ray Eames, who were reshaping contemporary life with their use of optimistic hues and innovative materials. Together they inspired Juhl to broaden his horizons, and he began to experiment with increasingly ambitious textures, bringing forth colourful, contemporary designs such as the 1955 sideboard.
