The story If You Give a Pig a Pancake by Laura Numeroff is perfect for Spring. This book companion was designed for speech & language therapy, speech & language intervention, whole group activities and small group literacy circles. You will need to purchase the book separately. What's included in this packet: Retell Coins: p. 3-4 Print, cut, and laminate. Ideas for use: Visuals while telling the story. Place in a muffin tin and have your students toss a ball. Whatever it lands on they have to describe, say the word ___ number of times, or use in a sentence. Sequence the pictures then retell the story. Sequencing: p. 5-6 Have your students cut out the pictures on page 4 and glue them in sequential order onto page 3. (BW version also included on pages 7-8) Comprehension Questions: (P 9-10) 12 WH question comprehension cards with picture cues and retelling map. Cut out WH question cards and place Velcro to retelling map (page 9). Every time a student answers a question correctly, they will remove the card to reveal part of the picture.
