Adarsh Jaikarran is a native New Yorker of Guyanese descent, born and raised in Queens. Despite attending an engineering high school, Adarsh always dreamed of following in his mother's footsteps to become a nurse, a plan nearly set in stone until he was scouted on the subway as a teenager. At 18, he landed his first job: a web editorial with Barneys that was quickly followed up by campaigns for Phillip Lim, Pendleton, and J. Crew. Although it is Adarsh’s distinct features that caught the attention of these brands, it is his obvious charm and infectious energy that has made him a favorite of his clients. He carried this signature attitude to Milan Fashion Week in his debut for Versace SS ’23. Backstage, seasoned models encouraged Adarsh to “bask in it,” and he has lived by this advice ever since. Off the runway, Adarsh feels most like himself in New York, playing basketball, shopping at the farmer’s market, or at the climbing gym.
