This creates a beautiful natural bed. For an additional $80, you can choose from a wide range of colors of stain. The photos show natural walnut wood finished with tung oil. The bed listed is for use without box springs; platform configuration. The bottom of the mattress is about 9" above the floor. The mattress bottom is about 1.5" below the top of the sides. The standard number of slats is 20 slats that are about 2.5" wide spaced by about 1.5". The four bed legs are angled as shown in the photos. The top of the headboard is about 44" above the floor. The bed is about 8" wider than your standard mattress and about 8" longer than your standard mattress. The bed is custom made for you. You can request almost any change that you would like. Most furniture in high priced stores is made of pressed materials with thin veneers. Such materials are easily damaged and are difficult to repair. They also often give off unhealthy fumes.
