This product is two sets of Task Cards- a set of 24 graphs of parabolas and a set of 24 quadratic equations. At the beginning of a Quadratics Unit students can practice the basic properties of quadratic functions- (vertex, axis of symmetry, y-intercept, wide vs skinny, opens up or down) by matching the Quadratic Graph Task Cards with the Quadratic Equation Task Cards. The two sets should be printed out and given to each group so they can manipulate the cards and look for the matching graph and equation. An answer recording sheet is provided if you wish students to record answers along with the vertex, axis, and y-intercepts. A second usage of the cards is later in the Quadratics Unit when they are learning how to solve a quadratic equation. Hand out just the Equation Task Cards or post them around the room. Students can solve each equation by any method. After they have their solutions and work completed on the Answer recording sheet hand out the graph cards so they can check their answers by using the visual of the card. This is a nice way to reinforce that solving means to find the x-intercepts. Another option is to just post the answers. I have also included three posters with review concepts about quadratic equations that can be used for review or reference.
