This is a 1940s knitting pattern to knit a Fair Isle twinset consisting of a short sleeve jumper and matching cardigan. (227 gr) of "Sirdar" Majestic Wool, 3ply, in natural shade for the cardigan and 5 ozs. (142 gr) of the same wool for the jumper; 1/2 ozs (14 gr) of each of the following shades will be enough for the cardigan and jumper, red, yellow, brown, green and blue; a pair each of No. 9 and No. 12 knitting needles. Measurements: Jumper - Length from top of shoulder to lower edge, 19 ins. Width all round at underarms, 38 ins. Length of sleeve seam 4.5 ins. Cardigan - Length from top of shoulder to lower edge, 19 ins. Length of sleeve seam, 19 ins. For a bust measurement of 36-37 inches use No. 10 needles instead of No. 9 for the main part, and No. 13 for the finer needles. Needles are old UK sizes. No. 9 = 3.75 mm / US 5 No. 12 = 2.75 mm / US 2 No. 10 = 3.25 mm / US 3 No. 13 = 2.25 mm / US 1 Tension: 7 sts. to 1 inch using No. 9 needles.
