Below are pictures of my Algebraic Properties of Equality foldable that I have used for the past 3 years. For the past two years, we do examples in the foldable together and then students independently match up the properties on the left side. If you download the foldable, you will notice that I actually made the foldable a cut and paste activity. I did not have time to do this last year since I did not want the whole lesson to be based on "cutting and pasting." However, I may do the left side first, write down examples, and then have students cut and paste the properties for the foldable to the right. That just sounded very confusing, but if you download the files, you will understand what I am talking about. :) Normally, I like writing hints next to each property. For example, one of my geometry teachers showed us the R,S, T = 1, 2, 3 trick. This sticks with students! We make little notes in our foldable that help us remember the difference between the properties. If you have any questions, let me know! This goes great with my Algebra Proofs book activity.
