Add some personality into your interior with a photo gallery wall featuring framed photo prints of you and your loved ones.
Gallery walls are our favourite type wall art display! They inject style and personality into the room. A gallery wall is a selection of prints, sometimes in different sizes, displayed together to create an ‘art gallery’ effect. It can be a selection of prints (artworks, photos, posters, family photos, you name it!) displayed in a cluster, like below examples:We believe everyone deserves gorgeous art at an affordable price. The great thing about art prints is that they can be changed with the seasons or fashions easily. They provide an accessible way to update your décor and can change the whole look of your space quickly & easily.Creating the perfect layout and combination for a gallery wall can feel like a daunting task. You might have countless ideas and elements to consider incorporating into the design. If you are renting, let us introduce you to your new best friend - 3M wall strips! They won't damage the wall and you can hang your wall art or decor with no fuss 😉 Follow these 8 easy-peasy steps below, to create and hang your own gallery wall in your home without the stress ❤️ Step 1 Let's begin with the wall you have in mind. Doesn't matter if it has artwork on it already. Attach an A4 (or Letter size in the USA) paper to the wall with removable tape. This paper will come in very handy for artwork scale purposes later, trust us 😉 Take a photo of the room, front on, in good lighting. Here is a photo of our wall we will use as the example: Step 2 Now the fun part! Think about the photos or wall art you would like to display on your gallery wall. These could include digital photos of family or friends you already have, some new wall art or posters found by browsing your favourite stores online, or checking out shopping centres or even thrift stores for more unique pieces. Feel free to check out our website here to get some inspiration! Collect all your ideas and pictures, we will come back to them later. Step 3 Once you have your ideas, it's time to think about the size and layout. If you have existing wall art or family photos, now is the time to measure them all and write it all down on a piece of paper. Think about the layout you would like. Pro Tip - Create focus with a large main piece, and maintain balance around it with smaller pieces, to give your gallery wall the WOW factor! Don't be scared to mix up frame colours too. Black, oak or white mixed together looks just fabulous 🙌 We have created a free gallery wall layout templates guide. One way to make your house feel like a home is to add personal photos. I created a custom Framebridge gallery wall perfect for our home!
As you probably know, I love art. One of my favorite ways to display art in our house is with a gallery wall. Today I'll be sharing some fun ideas for your next gallery wall. You can use any of the above ideas to create a really unique wall of art in any room. Here are some more fun tips that I use when assembling my own gallery walls. #1. Mix & Match. In my Office Gallery Wall I mixed a sailboat print, weird-foreign-maps, small mirrors, and some of my favorite photographs that I had printed in black and white. The majority of this wall was sourced straight from thrift stores. It doesn't need to be expensive to look great. #2. Have fun mixing different sizes and shapes. If you want to mix and match, go for it. Pick 2-3 sizes/shapes and repeat them throughout the gallery wall. This makes it more pleasing to the eye. Or you can just use all totally unique items. I'm actually loving that idea more and more as time goes on, and am already thinking about my next gallery wall. #3. Draw a line. Here is a drawing I made of the office gallery wall to help you see what I'm referring to. See the line? Decide on a 'line' for your gallery wall. It can be vertical or horizontal, and you can place it anywhere. You can also use multiple lines, kind of like a grid. Use the line/lines to anchor your frames. You can see more about this here. #3. Make it symmetrical Create a gallery wall using a series of similar art, slightly varied. I created a gallery wall like this in my living room using botanical prints (found on eBay) and dollar store frames (spray-painted gold). You can see more pics of this gallery wall here. #4. Keep it simple. I kept it pretty simple when I created the Bird Art gallery wall in our guest bathroom. I printed out black silhouette birds on our printer and framed it in simple white frames. #5. Get reflective. Use mirrors. If you're running low on art, no prob. Throw an interesting mirror (or two) in the mix! I did this with our Mirror Gallery Wall in our guest bedroom. I hope I've left you with some great ideas for creating a gallery wall of your own! Thanks so much for stopping by! For more tips on all things art, go here or here.
