Hello everyone, Come and enjoy an afternoon tea in the garden under the old apple trees ~ we can enjoy their beauty and sweet fragrance once again. I love these white scrolled chairs that I bought at Winner's a few years ago. I think they add a touch of elegance to the garden. I even pressed my old white linen tablecloth for the occasion! A pretty bouquet of apple blossoms. White napkins and china. Tea and pecan butterballs. My white teapot also from Winner's a few years ago. Love the white blossoms on the floweing crab apple tree by the pond too. I hope you are enjoying your week and thank you for joining me for tea under the old apple trees today! I was doing some painting in the boathouse today and hope to take some new pics in there soon. Magcloud has a 20% off sale on for a short time if you would like to order one of my books or anyone else's it would be a good time to get a deal. I am joining BNOTP for Tablescape Thursday. Take care, Carolyn

Making it Cozy via I have a thing for iron scrolly garden furniture. I have a little on my front porch. I love it's pretty lines but it does seem a bit cold. I've been watching Craigslist for weeks looking for furniture for my back deck. This vintage set has been on there for for quite awhile. listing here It just seems a bit cold...doesn't it? I'm guessing others think so too so it hasn't sold. via But browsing Pinterest I've found many examples of how you can take the plainest of garden benches and soften them up. Make them inviting. Just look at that space above...it's just begging you to take a nap. The only thing that makes it so is the addition of a quilt. via Here a daybed gets the treatment. via Another daybed...complete with floral cushions and matching pillows. via Daybeds seem such a luxury in the garden. via Here just a plain chaise becomes the ultimate garden bed. via So romantic with the addition of pillows. via Just a common garden bench becomes the ultimate place to spend the afternoon when pillows and quilts are added. via via And this is just your ordinary park bench but cover it in romantic pillows and it becomes something special. Looking through this makes me want to just gather up all the odds and end pillows I have around the house and throw them on my bench. As it stands right now...I keep having to retrieve my outdoor pillows from the yard. Last night was a big night of storms in Oklahoma City. Again they skipped around me. Thank goodness. But it was really a hairy night. Even the weather men are ready for the spring weather to end. They are worn out from reporting it. Last night I thought one of our old time weather guys...Gary England... the one everyone listens to. I thought he was going to have a stroke on air...he was so hyped up. We had tornado warnings and sirens going for hours plus driving rain, hail and flash flooding. I never lost power but many did. My dogs were never scared though...they take it all in stride. I called my Mom...she had a different set of storms forming over her and her dogs were barking and barking at the sound of the tornado sirens. My dogs pretty much ignored it... Franklin kept watch of the weather at the window. Here's a good video of some storm chasers that got too close to one of the tornadoes yesterday. See you Sunday for an Open House! Tweet
To restore a feeling of equilibrium to his Queen Anne house in Herefordshire, interior decorator Edward Bulmer remodelled the layout, added a new wing, and painted the walls in interesting colours to create a contemporary family home

Hello everyone, Queen Anne's Lace grows prolifically in ditches etc. around the Island, so some might consider it a weed but I love it's delicate beauty. However, not to be overlooked in this post is my beautiful new tea set! You know how I love my dishes. It is Royal Crownford Ironstone and it has the wheat pattern on it. I already have the large pitcher and wash basin from this pattern. The bouquet of Queen Anne's Lace on the window sill of the cottage. My old $1 chair from Coulson's in Summerside. Speaking of lace - I got this beautiful lace tablecloth recently for $1.50! I do love my bargains!!! I should mention that the tea set came from Hardy's in Charlottetown. The tea pot, large creamer and cups and saucers was $25. So delicate. Isn't it amazing something that grows so easily is so beautiful? I am joining Faded Charm for White Wednesday , Bernideen's TeaTime Blog and The Charm of Home for Home Sweet Home. Also joining My Romantic Home for Show & Tell. Thank you for visiting, Carolyn
