Hi, all! Well, in the midst of the rush of preparations for the holidays, it's easy to forget that we're also coming up on the end of 2017! This has been a great year - I've discovered that I really like working with scraps, and I've made some fun projects using those scraps... ...but I'll have to admit that all of that sewing hasn't made a dent in my stash of scraps! So here's a few photos just to keep it real.... The baskets on the top of my fabric storage shelves... ...the tubs under my long arm machine that I still haven't touched... ...the piles of leftover scraps from earlier scrap projects... still not sorted into tubs.... ...my well-stuffed strings hamper... ...and the overflowing catch basket on my cutting table! Oh the shame of it.... But there just aren't enough hours in the day... And there are so many projects to do! Where to start??? And that's where I want to begin with this challenge. Will you join me? Here's my plan... I'm going to take a good hard look at my scrap situation over the next two weeks, and make a list of least twelve specific things I want to accomplish in 2018. Some might be as simple as sorting out a tub of scraps, others as fun as making a new quilt or a rope bowl, or as generous as sharing a box of scraps with someone less scrap-blessed, but all will work towards the goal of controlling my scraps during the year. I'll write out each goal on a card, maybe even with pics - that inspiration quilt shot, for example - fold them up small and put them in a pretty jar or box. Then the first Wednesday of January, I'll pull one out to work on, and share it with you. There will be a linky party so you can join in and share your goal for the month too! Come the first Wednesday of February, and each month after, we can share progress on the previous month's goal, and reveal the new goal for the new month! And remember I said at least twelve things? If I come up with more, I'll write them up too - and if I have a month where I finish early, I'll draw a second task. And this is really low pressure - if life happens and I can't meet my monthly goal, it's not the end of the world! Believe me, those scraps aren't going anywhere! So - - - are you interested in joining me? I've even come up with a cute little badge to put on your blog... I'm looking forward to this! Just what I need, a little challenge to put the spark back into my quest for super-neat and usable scraps!! I hope you'll come along for the ride! Hugs! Sarah
