The image or text appears through a series of cuts/scratches in the surface of the material. They are so small that they feel smooth to the touch. The engraving process is permanent and does not involve ink of any kind. So, your image or text will not wear off and your product will not fade. TO LEAVE ENGRAVING INSTRUCTIONS On the last page of checkout, below the Submit Order button, there is a box where you can “Add an optional note to the seller”. Please leave engraving instructions here. If you happen to miss this step, simply send us an Etsy message with the instructions. Images can be sent via Etsy messages. Please be as detailed as possible. If you would like engraving plus photo please attach your photo along with your engraving instructions. INTERNATIONAL ORDERS: Please note that international orders may be subject to customs fees. The buyer is responsible for the payment of these fees. Import charges can vary; unfortunately, we are unable to predict which of these fees, if any, will be applied.
