Size approx.: 33 x 33 cm. Hand-illustrated digitally printed silk twill scarf featuring the Goddess of the Night Wings – imaginary mythical mother of all wings, taking great care of flying creatures. She is like a midnight moon looking after the nocturnal creatures such as moths, owls and sleeping heron. This scarf is printed in burgundy, purple and navy blue background, then in a variety of colours on each animal. It is a very versatile and special design. As a trained fine artist I always wanted to put my illustrations of fabric. With the help of digital technology, I am now able to print them on beautiful silk twill. They can be worn as scarves or they can be simply treated as wall art. All my illustrated digitally printed silk scarves are printed in Great Britain in limited quantity and they can only be bought from me directly. All my scarves are handmade. And my prints are no different. I start by sketching different parts of the scarf. I draw and then paint them in large A1 size to avoid pixelation. Then I put the artwork together and clean it. Afterwards, the file is sent to speciality printers. It's all sounds quite easy but it is a lengthy process. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - 100% silk twill scarf - finished edges - size: approx.33 x 33 cm (12 x 12 inches) - soft on touch --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A little bit about me: As a classically trained fine artist, I’ve always been intrigued by the idea of wearable art. So naturally, painting on silk has come as the best idea. Heron Design Studio aims to create such wearable pieces of art that will be timeless and versatile. Every piece that is created is unique. Every design is sketched first on a piece of paper. That is followed by colours being carefully picked. After that, the scarf is painted (freehand) with no stencils or aids. Small imperfections are just a part of the hand painting process and make the painting unique and unrepeatable. Each of the motives created has a different technique (metallic outliner of watercolour technique etc) and a different material (different types of silk fabrics) used. That is because suitability is carefully considered. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- More items in different finishes, colours and sizes are available here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/HeronDesignStudio?section_id=21077212 https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/HeronDesignStudio?section_id=21077208 https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/HeronDesignStudio?ref=hdr_shop_menu§ion_id=21083357 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ships worldwide from London UK ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Care instructions: – 100% silk – wash gently in cold water max 30°C - If needed, use a drop of soap - Rinse thoroughly - Wring gently wrapped up in the towel – iron on low settings preferably still a little bit wet to avoid hard creases – all items are pre-washed to avoid an excess of dye/paint coming off
