Karen Burniston's Design Team has our challenge day today, with 'The Great Outdoors' as our theme. For my card I used Karen's Tent Pop-Up die set, which includes everything to make a beautiful tent, fire, fire surround, and pop-up tree stump! The papers I used are all from Carta Bella's 'Flora No.2' 12x12 set and 6x6 pad. The sentiment comes from the 6x6 pad. Karen has a great assembly video, which shows how the card comes easily together - it was seriously so satisfying to make! The grass border was made using Karen's Nature Edges die set. I thought about what I like most when I go camping - I like making my tent pretty (yes, I've hung bunting on my tent before, though I haven't got such a gorgeous floral tent!), I like a good book, a decent light (in this case a lantern from the Camping Charms set), and nice things to eat and drink. I tried to re-create those elements in my card! (The book and mug with marshmallows I cut by hand.) The card front is just very simple, with a sentiment from the 12x12 Flora No.2 set. Everything folds down very cleverly! Product Links:

Our Designer Challenge this month is called 'Inspired Creations', and I love it! Karen's Design Team are to pick any project from any of the past Designer Challenges, and use it as inspiration for a new card. I had a lovely time going back through old Designer Challenge posts - there were tonnes of great ideas to choose from, but I think because I just spent the week before last on our church girl's camp, that Raquel Mason's fabulous tent card stood out to me, and I used it for inspiration for my card. Raquel adapted the Barn Pop Stand die set to make a tent, and added trees from the All Season Tree die set. Isn't it such a brilliant card?! You can find Raquel's original Barn Tent card blog post here. I used the Pop Stand die cutter (from the Barn Pop Stand set) to create flaps to which I attached four trees (from the All Seasons Tree set). I glued the outer branches of the front and back trees together. Next, I cut two barn shapes, and trimmed the bottoms of the barns down a bit, so they could just fit under the tree branches. After cutting a slit in the front barn piece (and making holes with a Crop-a-dile), I attached the barn pieces onto the tree trunks, and used double sided tape to stick the two tent halves together at the top. Then I added lots of foliage to the trees, using the cloud dies from the All Seasons Tree set, and added a string of bunting to one tree (with flags from the Lots of Pops die set), and I hand cut a little bird house (plus used a heart punch) for the other tree. I then added twine and brads to the holes I'd made with a Crop-a-dile, to be little guy ropes. Lastly, I added a white strip of card stock, with pink scalloped borders (made with a scallop border punch), and added a heart, and pink glitter lettering cut with the Alphabet 1 - Caps set. The card is for someone who helped out a lot on our camp! Product Links:

The Riley and Company Design Team are celebrating the new stamp release by bringing you ..... Inspiration Week with the Design Team all week the Design Team will be sharing creations they have made using the new stamps. There are 17 Funny Bones stamps and 9 Inspiration stamps. These stamps are available to purchase on the Riley and Company website on Friday 13th November! For my card today I have used one of the new Funny Bones Sentiments .... Age is of no importance. Of course I had to create a cheese theme card which I did by turn the Oval Accordion Card designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs into a tent card. I couldn't have a block of cheese without Jolly the Mouse LOL! Here is another view of my card so you can see how it is folded to create a Tent Card. If you want to see how to create this style of card you can see my tutorial here. Stamps: Age is No Importance Funny Bones Sentiment - Riley & Company Paper: White; Yellow; Dark Yellow Dies: Oval Accordion Card; Oval Dots Frame Edges; Jolly the Mouse - designed by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs Other: Black Ink; Foam Tape I will be back tomorrow with another card using the new release stamps.

Hello and Welcome! It's Designer Challenge time again and this months theme was Vacation! Who doesn't love a vacation? I live in Canada and there are so many beautiful Provincial Parks to camp in and so many cabins you can rent for a week and spend some amazing family time! So for my card, I made a cabin in the woods Vacation. I started with an A2 sized card in a dark brown cardstock. I cut two panels from smooth white cardstock and created my background using Distress Oxide ink. I used Karen Burniston's Tiny House Pop-Up to create the cabin. I cut the house part out from smooth white cardstock and with a pencil create the logs on the cabin. From there, I used my Copic markers to create the wooden logs. I added wooden window frames and door. I added some bushes using the tree leaves from Long Nature Edges 2 and grass using the grass add-on from the Tiny House Pop-Up. I used the stones from the Tiny House Pop-Up and created a path way to the dock. I added some detail using my Copic markers. I added some fish from Karen Burniston's Camping Charms and added detail to them using Copic markers and a white Gelly Pen. I used the Bam Box pop-up and green cardstock to create a place for the trees to pop-up. I used the Christmas Trees Pop Stand and the Evergreen Pivot Panels to create the trees in the background. Then I added details using Copic markers. For the fire pit, I used the fire pit dies that come with the Tent Pop-Up and created the fire beside the cabin. I added details again using Copic markers. I made a little folding pop-up piece for the fire pit. I tried to use a Bam Box Pop-Up but it was too big for the tiny fire. For the front of the card, I created a wood patterned paper background using the Rectangles - Crosshatch in the largest size. I then used the Ovals - Crosshatch to create a scene on the front. I used the Outdoor Scene dies to create the trees and created a cloud background using MFT Mini Clouds stencil and Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers. I used Word Set 6 - Summer to create the "Hello Summer" and "Enjoy" sentiments on the card. For the final touches to the inside of the card, I added some little flowers that I had in my stock of die cuts and I think that gave it the finishing touch of a great summer vacation cabin! Thank you so much for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
