UML diagrams provide software developers and systems architects with the ability to design and visually represent software-based systems. These templates can also be used to model business processes and workflows. Visio supports both structural and behavioral diagrams, including nine different types of UML diagrams: Class, Sequence, Activity, Use Case, Component, Communication, State, Deployment, and Database.
