You are new to this product? Let me figure it out, you want to track student progress and mastery level, but don't know how or don't have a tracker? You want to pull small groups for additional guided support for struggling learners, but maybe you don't have a tracker and you don't know how to document your observations? If you’re like me, you must have been figuring this out for awhile and you are tired of searching for an efficient small group tracker on the high school level. Seriously, a tracker that allows you to assess student misconceptions, noticing's, mastery level, and then identify next steps. The good news is you don't need to search anymore! Stop looking for a tracker that will meet ALL your needs. It’s right here! I spent a lot of time on this tracker and when I posted it on IG, I was getting a lot of comments and “can you share it with me” requests in my DM. I am happy to share. This tracker is super useful for pulling small groups based on data you’ve already collected: warm ups/do nows/bell ringers, previous lesson’s exit tickets, formative assessment data, etc. While tracking in your small group, you can decide by the end whether to keep some or all of the students in the small group again for the next lesson or provide more support independently or just monitor their classwork. On the tracker, you will notice several acronyms under Data. ET stands for Exit Ticket. All of my assignments are out of 4, so in the space below, I’ll write in the Exit ticket score for the student from the previous lesson. DN stands for Do Now. I write the score for that from the current lesson which happens in the beginning of class. FA 1 stands for Formative Assessment #1 which is anything you are assessing in the middle of the lesson. For me, it might be a random question I chose during independent practice and I quickly go around and check on how some students or the entire class did. It could be used to track student discussions—anything that you consider a quick formative assessment in the middle of the lesson. FA 2 is the same thing and is just another opportunity to assess at another point during the lesson. Most of the time I only get up to ET, DN and FA 1. But all of these assessment points are critical as they hold you accountable for tracking at the beginning (DN), middle (FA 1 and FA2), and end (ET) of a lesson! Let me know if this tracker has met your expectations or what else I can do to improve it! This tracker is a .pdf and can be used digitally on a device as well. I use my iPad pro and I just love it! I also have this tracker available here for ELA ★ SCIENCE ★ HUMANITIES teachers. Good luck and enjoy! Find me on Instagram to watch me teach and see how I put my resources into action!
