I love completing these activities after I finish reading The One and Only Ivan to my class. They love learning about the real Ivan, and so do I! The research and writing takes my class about 3 days to complete. (opinion) links and suggestions for the teacher to preview Of course, it’s totally up to you how you wish to use these resources. I like to give my students plenty of time to research on their own. You may want to copy the “Field Notes” page double-sided depending on how much time you are going to give your students.
