When I started dot painting years ago, I used to do only dots but now a days after experimenting and with lots of experience I like to use all kinds of shapes in my artwork. . Dot artists around the world are using these shapes and these shapes look really beautiful and give a great dimension to the artwork. I guess we can call it modern day dot painting. Today I am going to show you how to paint different shapes in dot mandala painting. They are called swooshes, swipes, petals or many other things. You all can get this as a giveaway from my channel. I have made all these shapes on a-black card stock in a grid. You can download this chart and use it for your reference. So let’s start today’s. Video. You can see I am taking lots of paint and touching the surface very lightly. Just touch a bit and lift the tool. Next I am using the cone to make a dot. You can see the dots come very puffy with the. cones. For most of the shapes I put lots of paint with the tool and then drag the dot with a needle tool. Here I am using the cone to make the same shapes. It becomes easier with the cones as you don’t have to load the tool with the paint many times. Just put a blob of paint and then drag it to make the shape. You got the idea here right. Just put the paint on the surface and drag it with a needle tool to make any desired shape.
