A little bit of cottagecore decor for your home. Mushroom ornaments can be hung on the tree or to decorate your home. Those acorns have been collected in the wood, nearby our house, in Atlantic Canada. They have been clean individually, put on the microwave for few secondes, then cooked and dried in the oven for few hours before being coated with 3 layers of golden paint. Then, the acorn has been gently glued with its cap. A little hole in the cap has been drilled for the ornament version. I have used a waxed gold thread for the hanger. Each acorn is different in size, they usually measure between 0.60" and 0.98" / 1.5 to 2.5 cm approximately. Those will add glamour, a rustic touch and sparkle to your fall decor and holidays home decorations. Those look amazing displayed on a winter wedding table ! Here is the silver version: https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/252427141/christmas-ornament-silver-holidays-decor?ref=related-1 Finally, please do convo me if you need more of those ! I will gladly help you. Many thanks for looking at those golden acorns. (Box on picture #4 is not included)

Yesterday you caught a glimpse at what was on my work table and here today we have the end result, teeny tiny acorn huts for mushrooms. I like to think that if the pine squirrels came over for a crafting night, this is what they would make. I've hollowed out some acorn bodies and after they were cleaned and dried, glued in a wool mushroom and moss. I sewed small french knots on the caps for their spots. They're so tiny and they fill me with glee. I am gleeful when I look at them. This one with the extra nub on the cap is my favorite. These little guys will be in my shop soon and will be available on Sunday morning, not Saturday as I said earlier, as I've had a couple of commitments come up since then. To celebrate the acorn theme, I decided to make myself a cup of acorn tea. I poured boiling water over some of the acorn flour I made, allowed it to steep, then strained out the acorn. (a french press would be really handy for that) I added a bit of sugar, but next time I might not, it was really good on its own. The acorns have a caramel taste to me and this was like sipping warm, milky caramel. I think the pine squirrels would approve. Today I am ever so flattered to have been featured at re-nest, a gorgeous green home site. I was invited by the talented and charming Rikkianne to define "needle-felting" and offer a few thoughts on the process. I'd love it if you'd stop over and have a look. Acorn is 5 x 8 cm, or 2 x 3.1 inches in height. Here are 3 sets of acorns, and 2 sets of acorns, fall leaves and pumpkin. They are filled and embellished on front side only. Back is in one color. I offer more Thanksgiving ornaments in case you'd like to combine acorns with some of them. Check my Thanksgiving section for more ideas.
