Taken in the macro mode, this is a section of an amethyst vug. It is broken into a large chunk about 2' long and 18" wide. This image was captured inside a tent where the dealer displayed his specimens for sale. There is a fair amount of dust on the chunk of crystals but the available light from about 15' away still gave enough light play to show how this common crystal displays rich coloring in the spectrum of blue to purple to red. Amethyst is such an amazing crystal. It resonates with Virgo, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces. It's planet is Jupiter and it's element is Wind or Air. Amethyst is great for working with the third eye (6th Chakra), crown chakra as well as the Etheric (8th chakra and beyond). Amethyst is a member of the Quartz family with a trigonal crystal system and a hardness of 7. Its color varies from pale to deep purple and is derived from the combination of trace amounts of iron and aluminum, plus natural or applied irradiation. We will handpick one stone for you. The stone will be from the batch that is pictured, however it may not be a stone from the photo as the batch was quite large.
