A kid with his “head in the clouds” used to be a bad thing, especially where teachers were concerned. Now, it’s a goal, thanks to this DIY cloud ceiling trend.

Function, design & making the most of your home

I decided to paint a DIY cloud ceiling in R's bedroom makeover. Here are the steps I used to create painted clouds on the ceiling.

Convert your boring old ceiling. This flame retardant voile fabric hung in swathes creates a lovely billowing effect. Supplied from 48" wide roll. Add 25% in each direction to the dimensions of your room to allow for the billows. If you require the illuminated version (star effect) as pictured, an additional purchase of one or more "Star Net Lights" are required.  Phone TFH for a quote.

The hanging lamp shade cloud can be used as a diffuser lamp shade placed under a light source or just as a decorative element hanging from the ceiling anywhere. For example in the picture composition there is one Hanging Cloud XL with ceiling light and two Hanging Cloud L without light source. The screens are sewn by hand in our atelier, choose between 4 different colors of yarn. Material: Polyester fibers Fireproof fabric. Colours: Pink, Yellow, Grey and Blue.
