An aspiring writer and offbeat loner, 16 year old Frankie Budge is suffering through another summer in Coalfield, Tennessee, when she meets Zeke, an artist who is just as awkward as she is. Romantic and creative sparks begin to fly, and when the two produce an enigmatic poster, people wonder who is behind it and start to panic. In this nuanced exploration of young love, identity, and the power of art, 20 years pass and Frankie is tracked down by a journalist who wants the scoop on the Coalfield Panic of 1996.
