This pattern is WITHOUT seam allowance. As some of my customers use the imperial system, myself and a lot of my other customers use metric, having no seam allowance in my pattern is just the easiest middle ground. I made sure to prepare this pattern in such a way that you only have to add the same seam allowance of your choice all around the pattern pieces. In my instructional video and the written sewing instructions, I am working with the metric system. This project is a very advanced project. I made sure to explain every single step in both the video and the sewing instruction that everybody can follow along. MATERIALS 70cm fashion fabric (I used 90% PE, 10% CO Bouclé for this, 635g/m2) measured on a 140cm wide standard fabric 70cm interlining (I used 100% cotton denim for this) measured on a 140cm wide standard fabric 70cm lining (I used 100% rayon for this) measured on a 140cm wide standard fabric 140cm interfacing (Use a thicker interfacing like Vlieseline S 320 for this) optional: 700cm twill tape for the boning channels (I recommend using the seam allowance of every seam for the channels, make sure to cut 1.5cm seam allowance at all vertical seams) 40cm twill tape for the cf boning channel (as there is no seam) thicker thread for the eyelets if you sew them by hand OR 22 eyelets (ø 6cm) matching thread sewing machine with a straight stitch serger or sewing machine with an overlock stitch Iron + ironing matte MOCK UP IS A MUST ESPECIALLY FOR CORSETS! I don’t know how to knit, and sadly I don’t have enough money to purchase endless pairs of gorgeous American Duchess stockings, so having beautiful period looking stockings to go with my outfits has always seemed an unattainable dream. Instead I made do by layering coloured nylon stockings until they were thick enough to look period, or using modern silk blend socks, but I’ve always wanted to come up with a solution that was closer to a period stockings. After a bit of trial and error, I’ve developed a pattern and method for making a reasonable facsimile of period stockings.
