On sloping rocks lies artwork carved by human hand 2000-3000 years ago. The petroglyphs were created in the Bronze Age and the early Iron Age. The carvings show a cult where the sun was an animating factor. People from Scandinavia carved ships, sun symbols, human figures and many other designs. The ships appear in several variations and none of the ships carvings are exactly alike. The ship was an important religious symbol throughout the Bronze Age, interpreted as the symbol of all that was holy and full of power, while it was a means of transportation to the sun and the divine in all spheres. This pendant was cut with from 12ga 304 stainless steel sheet stock with a 3000 watt cnc laser. The width of the laser beam is about .01" which allows for the ability to cut very small detailed pieces. Stainless steel is very durable and will take much more abuse then similar cast pewter or silver pieces. The pendant is tumbled to remove cutting burrs and then is hand polished. The size is 1.25" in diameter and .1" thick. It may be used as a necklace or as a fob on a key chain. This pendant comes with a cord of 2mm waxed linen ready to wear as a necklace. size is 1.5" x .75" Thanks for looking :)
