Back in June I had an unexpected gift; BlogHer invited me to attend their event in Orlando. I had heard a lot about it in the past but with everything happening in my life at that point I just really forgot to plan the trip. But when they invited me to come I took it as a sign from life giving me a push to learn more about blogging and keep getting better at it. So, I decided to go. The first thing that came to my mind was hotel! Where was I going to stay?! I could not afford staying at the hotel by myself. So, I posted it on Facebook and reached out to my blogger friends. Luckily, a rather big group of bloggers from Miami were going and renting an Airb&b and they let me join them. Photo by: Oh Lola! Blog I am not the most social person at first, actually I am rather stand-off-ish (I was going to say shy but that would be a big lie) and sometimes that can pass as bitchy, and we all know how that goes with a group of girls, if you are “bitchy” at the beginning well that doesn’t sit well. Thankfully I knew 2 of the bloggers at the house so it made feel a bit more comfortable. I had never, ever in my 31 years of life traveled with friends. Well, maybe I did back in middle school but I don’t feel that that counts. My focus has always been my husband and my family, yes, I admit it; my friends really have never been a priority in my life. I’m awful, I know. But then blogging happened and it truly gave me a new meaning on friendships. Meeting like-minded women who wanted to share their lives, that loved taking photos, that had no shame in taking a selfie (like me) and hustling as much as I did, that didn’t see other girls as competition but that actually wanted to help them grow! Oh, what a refreshing feeling! Girls like Gaby from The Vogish Diet; who I met almost a year ago at WeAllGrow Miami and thought she looked like a total snob, OMG was I wrong! this girls is one of the most down to earth, funny and goofy gals I've ever met. Or like Dani from Nany's Klozet who I have been following for years now and met her in person at WeAllGrow in Long Beach last year and we have developed a friendship and support, not to mention I look up to her as my role/mentor in the blogging world. Or like Kim from Oh Lola! who I met at a bloggers event for Suave and we just clicked and since then she has been nothing but a supporter of my blog (and viceversa). Last but not least Valentina from MV Trends who is the sweetest person in the world and is the definition of the word hustle. But there was one special girl who could not make it and that is Erika from By Erika Batista who has been my other go-to mentor (I literally text her once a week asking her for advice) and a great friend who I really admire and can only hope I am as cool as her when I am a mom! One of my fave blogger BBFs Dani from Nany's Klozet While the trip did not start as a girls’ trip per say, I feel like it did become into one and I really enjoyed every second. The late-night talks, the wine going around, the bathroom sharing, and even the “fights” made the trip that much better. We went out to discover Disney Springs and did some shopping one day after BlogHer. The last day we got passes to go to the Disney parks and we decided to go to Animal Kingdom; mostly because I was being annoying about the recently opening of World of Avatar and it was AMAZING to say the least! It is truly a must-go but I will do a YouTube video about the experience so you can see more details. Then we headed to Magic Kingdom (yes, we did 2 parks in one day) and I got a little emotional because that was the place where my hubby proposed to me. But we had a lot of fun in all the rides and we took 20,000 photos in front of the Cinderella castle because duh! What actually happens behind the scenes at a blogger shoot. If you ever have the chance to do a girls’ trip, do it. At least once in your life. I know if you have kids or even if you don’t you might have a feeling of guilt for leaving your family behind. But taking some time off or yourself, to remember who you are it is a good thing to become a better wife, mom, sister and daughter. I just got back from my trip to Disney WORLD with my mom & basically spammed my Instagram with Disney content. By doing so I was also spammed with messages asking about all of my outfit details for all of the days we were there!
