Days to Maturity: 100 Fleuroselect Novelty Award 2021 'Apricotta' Cosmos, a large-flowered variety, is a half-hardy annual offering summer through early autumn interest. Free flowering, the tall plant sets large, round, daisy-like flowers in exceptional shades of apricot with soft pink centers. Borne singly on long, slender stems, the showy blooms attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds to the garden and make adorable long-lasting cut flowers for elegant summer bouquets. A Cosmos bipinnatus cultivar, 'Apricotta' is a sturdy plant with a bushy, upright habit of fine, feathery foliage and a rapid growth rate. It's perfect for mixed beds, borders, and naturalized areas. Easy to grow and dependable, 'Apricotta' Cosmos prefers full sun and average, medium moisture, well-drained soils. It tolerates dry soils, but rich soils may produce weak, leggy plants and encourage foliage at the expense of blooms. Although 'Apricotta' is low maintenance, deadheading spent flowers keeps the plant blooming and from prolifically self-seeding. Direct sow cosmos seeds after last frost date into soil that has warmed to 65 degrees Fahrenheit, or start seeds indoors 4 to 6 weeks before the last frost date and transplant into the garden once the threat of frost has passed. If you plan to start your seeds indoors, be sure to check out our Bio Dome Seed Starter Kit. With the Bio Dome, you can control the temperature, light, and soil mix to ensure your seeds become strong for transplant.

Cut Flower, Attracts Butterflies
South African Daisy, Cape Daisy, Bue-Eyed Daisy This pure white selection in the Flower Power (TM) series is a compact variety that puts on an African daisy show all summer. Each 3” flower features overlapping slender oblong petals and a faint purple ring surrounding a deep brown center. The pure white petals have a subtle pleating. Shorter and more mounding than the typical Osteospermum (18”H x 18”W), this variety is a perfect choice for a showy, sun-loving groundcover. Tough enough to use in a problem area and drought tolerant enough to use in a dry garden bed, it is also showy enough to use as a spiller in a mixed container planting. Its white brilliance makes it an ideal choice for a Moon Garden. Plant in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil. Clean up in winter. Deadheading prolongs blooming. Attracts bees and butterflies. Deer resistant. KLEOE14205 Earl, Curious Plantsman
