Living in the countryside has tons of pros. For example, you get to see your neighbor’s donkeys every time you get out to take in some fresh air after a long day of work. If that sounds a little too specific, I’ll just tell you that I know firsthand how donkeys are some of the most adorable animals around. I mean, have you ever seen a baby donkey? They’re often overshadowed by their equine counterparts or your usual cats and dogs, but they have a unique charm that can’t be beaten. The long ears, big eyes, and lipped mouths that hide big-ass teeth are the main reasons why they look so funny. But don’t let their appearance deceive you; donkeys are very kind-hearted and sensitive animals who make great pets. Just add that they’re hard-working animals that have supported humanity for farming, transport, and as pack animals for centuries, and you just got the perfect companion. The next time you find yourself in need of a smile, get back here and take a look at some of our favorite cute donkey pictures!

Winter homes needed for Blackpool beach donkeys PRESS RELEASE from The Donkey Sanctuary 8 September 11 Today beach donkey operators, who provide rides on the sands of Blackpool during the summer months, are making an appeal to find winter homes for their donkeys. The owners would like to find alternative accommodation for their donkeys during the winter to give them a well-deserved break. They are currently working closely with international animal welfare charity The Donkey Sanctuary to find temporary accommodation for their donkeys. Molly Lloyd, The Donkey Sanctuary’s regional welfare officer responsible for North West England explains: “Caring for donkeys can be incredibly rewarding, and looking after beach donkeys over the winter months will not only ensure that they can rest from their summer duties, but also give you hours of fun. Donkeys are companion animals and so any winter accommodation would need to be able to take a pair or group of donkeys. If you can provide an acre of well-fenced grazing with a shelter, fresh water supply and electricity, and have the time and commitment to care for donkeys over the winter months, please get in touch.” The Donkey Sanctuary can provide free support and advice to anyone interested in helping out. If you would like to find out more about providing a winter home to Devon’s beach donkeys, please contact Molly Lloyd on 07850 963563 or the charity’s Welfare Department 01395 578222. ENDS Notes to Editor For an interview, further information or images, please contact The Donkey Sanctuary press office on 01395 573097/573014 or mobile 07970 927778. About The Donkey Sanctuary International animal welfare charity The Donkey Sanctuary was founded by the late Dr Elisabeth Svendsen M.B.E. in 1969 and aims to protect donkeys and mules and promote their welfare worldwide. The Donkey Sanctuary supports projects to relieve the suffering of donkeys in 29 countries worldwide, including sanctuaries across Europe, where more than 14,500 donkeys and mules have been cared for, and major projects in Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Kenya and Mexico, where donkey welfare is improved through community education and veterinary work. Any donation, no matter how small, is gratefully received by The Donkey Sanctuary and one of the best ways to support the charity into the future is to give regularly by direct debit. For all the animal lovers, furry fans, and artists. Why do we continue to watch cartoons into old age? A lot of it has to do with the adorable appearances of the animal characters. Everyone has their favorites so there is bound to be disagreement with some of my choices. Please feel free to add your own in the comments (links to photos or video clips would be good too).
