HERE’S AN EXAMPLE OF DIFFERENT LASH STYLES: The art of lash extensions is a delicate one. It takes a lot of patience and skill to apply, and not just anybody can do it. But once you've gotten the hang of it, you can create so many different styles. Here are the 4 most common lash styles. For Classic Lashes Thickness/diameter : 0.10 to 0.18 Density: 1:1 lashes For Hybrid Lashes Thickness/diameter: 0.05 to 0.07 and 0.15 to 0.20 Density: Mixture of volume lashes and classic lashes (each lash fan should have no more than five lashes) For Volume Lashes Thickness/diameter: 0.05 to 0.07 Density: 5 to 10 lashes (promade or pre-made fans) on each lash fan For Mega Volume Lashes Thickness/Diameter: 0.03 or 0.02 Density: 10 to 15 lashes on each lash fan For more information on the difference between classic, hybrid, volume and mega volume lashes, please click here. WHAT IS THE BEST THICKNESS FOR CLASSIC LASHES? When it comes to creating the perfect set of lashes, understanding the nuances of thickness is crucial. Here's a breakdown to guide you in making the best choice for your clients: Classic 0.12: These are the thinnest lashes we use. Ideal for a natural look or for clients with naturally thin or weak lashes. They add length without stress. Classic 0.15: These lashes are the standard go-to for most clients. They offer a middle ground, providing a noticeable yet natural enhancement. They're great for daily wear and can suit a range of natural lash types. Classic 0.18: These are the thickest lashes we use for a classic set. They create a more pronounced lash line, perfect for clients with stronger, healthier natural lashes who want a more dramatic look. Now, let's decode the volume numbers: 16D 0.03: '16D' means 16 lashes are fanned out from one lash, and '0.03' refers to the diameter of each individual lash in the fan. This is a lighter volume set, giving a fuller look without the heaviness. 24D 0.03 / 36D 0.03: These are high-volume sets, with 24 or 36 ultra-fine lashes in a fan, creating a fluffy and dramatic effect. These are typically used on clients who want a glamorous, standout look and have the natural lash foundation to support it. 8D 0.05 / 10D 0.05 / 12D 0.05: These numbers indicate a moderate volume with a slightly thicker lash diameter. They provide a denser look while still maintaining a soft feel. 3D 0.07 / 4D 0.07 / 6D 0.07: These are the thickest lashes used in volume sets, creating a bold and striking effect. They're less in number but give a textured look due to their thickness. The technical aspect lies in the balance between the diameter of the lash extension and the number of lashes in a fan. It's all about enhancing the client's natural lashes without causing damage. Remember, the key to a successful lash application is not just the aesthetic appeal but maintaining the integrity of the natural lashes. Some lash artists count the lashes to give their clients an understanding and idea of what they will get—for example, applying 80-100 lashes per eye. Some lash artists prefer to time themselves; for example, a classic set typically lasts from 1h30 -2h for a complete set. A refill usually takes less time because we are refilling the lashes that have fallen off, not starting over from scratch. The most popular diameter for classic lashes is 0.15. For classic lash sets, 0.20 and 0.25 are not advised. Classic Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive, Straight Isolation Tweezer, L Shape Tweezer, Eyelash Extension Ballet Slippers Tape and Gel Under Eye Patches used here. To shop, please click here. In the past, .25 diameters were used for classic lashes to give the lashes a fuller, denser look. Still, with innovations like pre-made fans and the technique of volume lashes that have become more sophisticated, there is no need to use 0.20 and 0.25 diameters as they are too heavy for the clients' natural lashes. Diameters of 0.10 are suitable for excellent and weak lashes, and for clients who like a natural look, 0.12 would also be a very natural and pleasing look. Diameters of 0.15 and 0.18 will be used for clients with relatively healthy lashes that want a complete full look. With classic lashes and volume lashes, the rule of lash safety is to ensure you use a lash extension that is MAXIMUM 2-3 mm longer than the client's natural lash. If your client's lashes in the inner corners are 6mm, the lash extensions should be 8mm. If the client's lashes in the middle of the eye are 12mm, the lash extensions should not be longer than 15mm. It is a good rule to avoid damaging the client's lashes. Classic Lashes, Optite Low Humidity Adhesive and Dolphin-Shaped Curved Tweezer used here. To shop, please click here. How to dip classic eyelash extensions? Dip the classic lash into the middle of the adhesive. Slowly pull out the lash. Don't wipe off excess glue. It will cause retention issues. If you're looking for a way to add some length and volume to your clients lashes, then classic is the perfect option! Classic lashes are created by applying one extension to one natural lash, which gives you a fuller natural look. STEP #1 When picking up the classic lashes, place your tweezer in the middle of the lash. Not too high and not too low. Too low might cause the lash glue to go onto your lash tweezer; too high won't give you enough control over the lash. Classic Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive and Straight Isolation Tweezer used here. To shop, please click here. STEP #2 If you are about to dip the lash, do it slowly. Coat about 2mm of the lash. The speed of dipping the lash into the adhesive is essential as it will determine how much glue will be on the lash extension. Attach the extension from the top, bottom, right or left side. It doesn't matter as long as you focus on the proper placement at the lash base. Please wait for a second or 2, depending on the speed of your adhesive, before letting it go. You can adjust the lash extension direction if you need to. Just make sure you do it quickly before your lash adhesive dries. Classic Lashes, Velour Lash Adhesive and Straight Isolation Tweezer used here. To shop, please click here. CLASSIC LASHES: HOW TO REMOVE using the banana peel method? If you're a lash artist, you've probably heard of the banana peel technique. It's a way to remove the lashes safely and easily before applying new ones. STEP #1 The easiest way to remove classic eyelash extensions is the banana peel method. One tweezer holds onto the natural lash, and the other has onto the lash extension. Hydro-Gel Under Eye Patches, Incredible Retention Primer, Lash Extension Medical Tape, Straight Isolation Tweezer and Large Tip Boot Lash Tweezer are used in this set. To shop, please click here.
