This year I made some simple swaps on our entryway console and it’s ready for fall! You don’t have to have fall pieces everywhere and I’ll explain more in today’s post and share my favorites that make the biggest impact. Keep reading for all of the details and shopping links!
Next up on the fall decor reveal in my home is the display I created on the sideboard in our dining room. I hope you enjoy seeing the details as much as I enjoyed putting it together. I began with this Global Fusion hurricane by Partylite that I've had for years. It is perfect for fall with it's mosaic pattern of warm colours. I set it inside a large fall wreath which I've also had for ages. Next pumpkin tureens were set atop wooden pedestals with a ring of faux berries around them. Acorn tureens were set on leaf shaped plates and placed on each side of the hurricane. Brown votive holders add a warm glow to the display. The full view. This wreath matches the one around the hurricane and is hung over the mirror with a wreath hanger. I actually have 3 of these wreaths which were one of my best scores ever. A few years back, they were originally priced at $34/each at a local Red Apple store. They kept getting marked down until they were at just $4/each. That's when I grabbed the last 3 they had! This Be Thankful pumpkin vignette on the side is a subtle reminder that Thanksgiving is only 3 weeks away (here in Canada). More fall decor is added to this side table in the corner. A large glass vase is filled with birch, branches, faux leaves and feathers. Below that, a black lantern and small pine cones fill the space. A beige table runner anchors the entire display on the sideboard. The leaf-shaped plates under the acorn tureens are the only new item. I picked them up last year at the end of season sales at HomeSense. My favourite time to view this area is at night. With the lights dimmed, it provides a wonderful cozy backdrop when we are eating at the dining room table. There is nothing like the glow of candlelight to create the perfect fall ambiance for dining. If you want to see the tablescape I designed that coordinates with the decor on my sideboard... ... Have you seen all the new ways to decorate for fall that are currently gracing store shelves? It seems there are faux pumpkins and leaves in every colour imaginable from deep purple to pastel pink just to name a few. Then there are the more neutral looks in white, cream and gray. While I enjoy all of these looks and might even give them a try now and then, I always come back to the traditional colours of fall when I decorate for this vibrant season. So that is how I've decorated my kitchen sideboard for fall this year. I began with this corner of the sideboard and incorporated my tiered tray. I got this Thankful & Blessed sign at HomeSense last week. With Thanksgiving so early this year (Oct 8th) I decided my tiered tray should reflect that holiday. This Tom Turkey took centerstage on the top tray. A combination of orange, brown and green items were arranged on the tray. Beside it, I placed my leaf bowls in anticipation of perhaps some type of pumpkin dessert. :) Orange and brown plaid napkins and gold flatware were also displayed. An orange berry wreath was placed over the metal/wood wall art piece. This is the vignette I created on the other corner of the sideboard. Again, another Thanksgiving appropriate sign was featured. I placed it on a wooden pedestal and surrounded it with faux fall florals and leaves. You'll notice I decided to move the mugs over to this corner and I arranged them on a wooden charger. A few of these faux sugar-coated pumpkins were tucked into various spaces. And that's a look at how I've decorated this area of my kitchen. I may change it up before the season's over but for now, I'm liking the ... traditional colours of fall in my home decor. How about you?
