This is the LIMITED EDITION "Tutankhamun" ancient Egyptian game of SENET. This is considered by many to likely be the first board game, dating back to as far as 3100 BC. There were four Senet boards of various sizes and materials found in the tomb of King Tutankhamen by Howard Carter in 1922, so it was clearly a favorite pastime for the young King. This recreation is based on one of the game boards found in the boy kings tomb, a legendary artifact from the Carter Expedition. This amazing recreation of that historic game carries all of the aesthetics of the original boards from thousands of years ago. The board with carriage measures 13.25" inches long, 7" inches tall on it's carriage and 4" wide. It comes as shown, with game board, carriage (which includes the game rules engraved in the carriage surface), four Egyptian Dice, also known as casting sticks and 10 pawns. The original board was made of lacquered ebony and was found in the anti-chamber of the tomb. No playing pawns were found and the drawer and carriage had been placed (or thrown) into separate sections of the room. Carter hypothesized that the original pawns, likely made of gold or silver, were likely stolen when the tomb was being fill with the Kings possessions. Now you can own your own version of this famous board, the one once played by King Tutankhamun! Each one of these is hand assembled to ensure quality and carefully finished and "aged" to give it the same appearance as the original artifact. This is the game you have been waiting for, giving you the incredible Egyptian aesthetic as well as historic and strategic game play. Play the game that was all the rage in the Age of the Pharoahs! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. PLEASE NOTE: This particular game is a very difficult one to make and delivery times may be longer than expected, depending on the work load in the shop. I make all of these game myself and work very hard to create quality games with a fine fit and finish. If you would like one of these then please order, I know it would be worth the wait! UPDATE: Currently the pawns for this game are made in black and white. The resin that I normally used for the faience colored pieces is not currently available from my supplier so the pawns that are shown in that color will come in black.
