This French Oyster Plate is one of my favorite with the traditional seaweed pattern. Six highly detailed and molded oyster shells around a center condiment well, create both depth and dimension with their intricate molding. Made in the mid century, this is an exquisitely painted plate creating movement with the pooling of the rich mossy green glaze. The plate itself is molded to create movement and the expertise of the artisan who painted the plate created a work of art. This plate is in excellent vintage condition and a mid century beauty with no chips, cracks or crazing. It is marked on the back with the Gien France mark used from 1960 to 1971.
