"Her watch was so delicate that the perfume of the roses in the warm garden breeze could stop its hands time would go still and freeze." ~a. niffenegger There has been so much activity in my life lately and all in such a short space of time! So many changes in just a few months. Sometimes change can leave me feeling a little bit lost and unsure of what to do with myself. I'm having to remember, or re-learn, how to be still and relax instead of pushing to do more and more and more. It helps that it feels like summer now. Everything is green and warm. My house has been full of leftover wedding flowers for the last week or so and their beautiful fragrance has made it feel like a garden. Now that the frantic pace has slowed down I am trying to find ways to relax and calm down after all of the excitement. Inevitably I am turning to the same things that always make me feel like myself again. Pretty things (smile). I sat in the garden one afternoon and drew a new picture, I am reading a favourite book, and I have made a point of getting up in the morning before work and taking some pictures while the light is so nice. I've missed having time to do that! I gathered all of my beautiful lace pieces - antique lingerie and handkerchief bags, pillows, doilies - and set them together. I love lace so much! I've started to study the history behind my favourite kinds of lace because I find it so fascinating! These pictures are just a glimpse into my small collection of lace treasures. I hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of summer as much as I am! Well wouldn't you know something would go wrong and I am not able to post all the pink and green I had planned. My photo storage is full and I purchased more space but it still won't let me load any more pictures. :( I guess it's just as well I have a lot of pink and green! I don't want to bore you! :) The violets are pretty aren't they? That's because I bought them a few days ago! :) I love this painting by Cindy Ellis...it was in Romantic Country Magazine. She did the vintage bottle too. This little bench was my inspiration piece for my dining room. This is my bedroom... my walls are painted pistachio by Waverly. Thanks for stopping by to see my pinks and greens for Pink Saturday. Please visit Beverly at How Sweet The Sound to see all the other beautiful pinks and greens. Happy Pink Saturday everyone!

Reeves loved the shape of this kicky MCM nightstand, but wanted to add a dose of fun to the boring, brown exterior. What an upgrade! We just love the subtle yet punchy color and how Reeves left a few triangles bare — a nice nod to the original wood. From Reeves: I chose to do a geometric pattern on the drawer, framed by the black on the rest of the nightstand. The geometric pattern goes with the modern style of the nightstand and I love the way it turned out!
It's amazing what you can do to IKEA furniture to make it look way over it's "assembled yourself" price tag. Kristen Kerr Luber's hack of the MALM series into a chic bedside table is at the top of my favorite list. In my last IKEA hack, I turned the VITTSJO shelving unit into a g
