Tegnap az egyik Tesóméknál voltunk hivatalosak ebédre. Nem volt se szülinap, se névnap, de mégis többfogásos finomsággal vártak. Én ezt a sütit készítettem és vittük az ebédhez. Nagyon egyszerű, hamar elkészül. Nem túl édes és a dió kedvelőinek igazi csemege. Hozzávalók kb. 24 db kiflihez: *20 dkg liszt *0,5 tasak sütőpor *4 tojás *20 dkg cukor *1 tasak vaníliás cukor *20 dkg margarin *12 dkg dió A sütőt előmelegítjük. Egy közepes tepsit (20*32 cm) kikenünk vékonyan margarinnal és meghintjük liszttel. A diót durvára vágjuk. A lisztben elkeverjük a sütőport. A tojásokat elválasztjuk. A cukrokat a margarinnal habosra keverjük, majd hozzáadjuk a tojások sárgáját. Beleszórjuk a sütőporos lisztet. A fehérjéket kemény habbá verjük, és a masszába forgatjuk. A tésztát az előkészített tepsibe simítjuk és megszórjuk a dióval. 180 fokon alul-felülsütéssel 30 perc alatt megsütjük. Tűpróbával ellenőrizzük. Hagyjuk teljesen kihűlni. Egy közepes pogácsa szaggatóval egy pohárral holdakat szaggatunk ki. Porcukorral meghintve kínáljuk.

Poppy seeds are available in bulk online, and at most Eastern European and Middle Eastern supermarkets. Alternately, you can buy a few jars of poppy seeds from the spice rack at any chain supermarket.Poppy seed pastries are very popular in Eastern Europe and Israel. To achieve the rich texture of the cooked poppy seed, the seeds need to be ground. The way to do it is with either an electric coffee grinder or with a blender, preferably a powerful one, such as Vitamix. As you grind the poppy seed they will become darker in color and will resemble almond flour in texture. Grind the poppy seed close to when you're ready to cook with it, as it becomes rancid pretty quickly, especially when grounded. If you have to grind in advance, keep it in a sealed container in the freezer until you're ready to use. I highly recommend using SAF Instant yeast (it's available online and can keep for months in the fridge.)When using instant yeast, you should skip the process of proofing the yeast.If you're using active dry yeast, start the recipe by proofing the yeast and continue as usual.
