Handcrafted from solid, sustainably sourced teak wood, this coffee table is a true conversation piece - and a natural heirloom you'll cherish in your space for years to come. **About Masaya & Co.** Based in Nicaragua, Masaya & Co is a sustainable furniture company formed in 2015 to bring its environmentally minded *seed-to-seat* mission to the world. The brand marries the reforestation initiative of its sister partnership with Maderas Sostenibles, which manages over 1,100 acres of land that produces long-term renewable timber, and the artisanal traditions and local craftsmanship of the rich cultural town for which it is named. Using an on-site mill and carpentry shop, each of its designs is made from harvested woods of the land's planted trees - such as teak, mahogany, Spanish cedar, and rosewood - and paired with responsible fabric for a beautiful addition to your home.
About Soda was born upside-down, with a puff of air. It weighs 20 kilos, and it is blown, drawn out and shaped by three master glassmakers. The result is a single volume of glass with three large petals forming the stem. In Soda, the glass vibrates: its tough, hammered surface fragments its transparency to give a textured aesthetic. This is artistic value granted to an industrial product. Soda is named after one of the three main ingredients of glass. It’s our way to celebrate this charming material. Our latest collaboration with Yiannis Ghikas led us to Soda, a collection of 20 kilos-volume of Murano blown-glass coffee tables. Available in two sizes and two colours, Amber and Petrol Green, the coffee table has a strong and iconic appeal, but it’s also flexible. Soda perfectly fits both homes and any public spaces. Throughout Soda’s research and design process, we were astounded at the lack of glass-blown products of this size and kind. Only later we realized it is because of the technical difficulties inherent in the handling of such an object, as well as the degree of expertise required to do it. An expertise possessed by a handful of highly skilled artisans in the Italian island of Murano. Among our main objectives was to use one of the most characteristic attributes of glass in our advantage: its transparency. Thus, we designed an object with such a geometry that allows it to play with light and shadow, creating different shapes as one’s perspective changes. If you look at the Soda from a certain edge, you see darker parts because of the way the layers of glass overlap. On the other hand, we have no control over the glass texture. We had to accept that this would stem from the skill of the artisanal process. Yiannis Ghikas was born in Athens, Greece. You might not think about coffee table heights as the sort of thing that fluctuates throughout the years, but like any design element, the ideal coffee table height not only changes from room style to room style, but also according to what’s in vogue in living rooms that are being lived in, in the current moment. Low coffee tables are just what they sound like: coffee tables with a top surface that sits a fair bit lower than your usual coffee table find.

Let’s make a coffee table - using plant pots! I am so excited about this month’s “Always Making” YouTube episode because I jump in the car and go on a little road trip down to the Gold Coat to help my friend Maddy from The Essentials Club build her own Organic Shaped DIY Ball Foot Coffee Table

About Impressive reclaimed teak root low profile coffee. Hand carved into this usable shape whilst respecting the natural organic wood. Polished with a natural oil revealing the beautiful wood grain. Both sculptural and usable. This coffee table was hand made in the spirit of Wabi-Sabi, a Japanese philosophy that beauty can be found in imperfection and impermanence. It is a beauty of things modest and humble. A beauty of things unconventional. It is the opposite of vulgarity. The costs of achieving this kind of minimalism are seemingly inconsistent with its mission of aesthetic humility. This kind of luxury is for a select few: The Emperor of Japan had a Wabi garden. Wabi is for people who already have a lot. Own an Andrianna Shamaris original. Andrianna Shamaris. The Leader In Modern Organic Design.
