About Soda was born upside-down, with a puff of air. It weighs 20 kilos, and it is blown, drawn out and shaped by three master glassmakers. The result is a single volume of glass with three large petals forming the stem. In Soda, the glass vibrates: its tough, hammered surface fragments its transparency to give a textured aesthetic. This is artistic value granted to an industrial product. Soda is named after one of the three main ingredients of glass. It’s our way to celebrate this charming material. Our latest collaboration with Yiannis Ghikas led us to Soda, a collection of 20 kilos-volume of Murano blown-glass coffee tables. Available in two sizes and two colours, Amber and Petrol Green, the coffee table has a strong and iconic appeal, but it’s also flexible. Soda perfectly fits both homes and any public spaces. Throughout Soda’s research and design process, we were astounded at the lack of glass-blown products of this size and kind. Only later we realized it is because of the technical difficulties inherent in the handling of such an object, as well as the degree of expertise required to do it. An expertise possessed by a handful of highly skilled artisans in the Italian island of Murano. Among our main objectives was to use one of the most characteristic attributes of glass in our advantage: its transparency. Thus, we designed an object with such a geometry that allows it to play with light and shadow, creating different shapes as one’s perspective changes. If you look at the Soda from a certain edge, you see darker parts because of the way the layers of glass overlap. On the other hand, we have no control over the glass texture. We had to accept that this would stem from the skill of the artisanal process. Yiannis Ghikas was born in Athens, Greece. With his background encompassing Computer Science alongside Design, he employs functionality as the ultimate purpose of his designs while explores their potential emotive responses. He sees design as a process of satisfying needs either tangible or intangible. His “Monarchy” stool has received the ""red dot design award"" (2009). He has worked with companies like feld (Belgium), Objekten(Belgium), miniforms(Italy), convex(Greece), the Industrial Gas Museum/Athens. His work has been exhibited internationally. Original impressive pendant lamp, produced by AV Mazzega in Italy, in the 1950s. The shade of this model, also known as 'Fazzoletto', resembles a large handkerchief. The shade is molded by hand. The lamp also displays some true Murano craftsmanship. AB Mazzega was founded by Angelo Vittorio Mazzega in 1946 in Italy on the island of Murano, famous for its glassblowers. AV Mazzega has worked with many outstanding designers who have created unique, beautiful lamps. These lamps are like works of art. The Fazzoletto lamp is one of them. It seems that a light glass handkerchief has been thrown over an ordinary light bulb. At the same time, the lamp is made of thick Murano glass. Each chandelier is hand-blown, so no two lamps are exactly the same. Excellent vintage condition. No chips or cracks. E27 bulb required. The chandelier weighs 5.5 kg. Maximum height with cable 120 cm.

Murano glass paperweights date back thousands of years; born almost by accident, they were formed from scraps of coloured glass that would otherwise have been thrown away. Over time, expert blowers have utilised several techniques to bring each paperweight to life, such as millefiori, murrina and lampwork. This results in intricate patterns and scenes formed of multicoloured rods, beads and canes. Please note, this item is a truly original vintage piece with slight imperfections and distinctive characteristics that add to its charm and celebrate its unique history.
