Summer is in full swing here at our little lake. Boating, water skiing, fishing, and pontooning are a big part of our social life, so this nautical themed table is appropriate for a little gathering before going out on the lake. Although, because there is no horse power limit on the boat motors, we see very few sail boats on our lake. Occasionally in the middle of the week when it is real quiet, you will see someone out sailing. I filled my sailboat with some different varieties of hydrangeas. I am not much of a gardener! My hydrangeas just don't look as big and gorgeous as everyone else out there in blog land! I just live vicariously through the ladies who post on Floral Fridays! My husband will not allow me to decorate our lake house with any "sea" items. So no mermaids, no seahorses, no shells, no sand dollars, no lobsters - you get the idea!! Anchors are allowed! Even though these are not the type of anchors we use -the nice guy that he is- let this slide. I chose these blue dyed napkins and a knotted rope napkin ring to top of the dish stack. This sailboat is from Pier 1 Imports, it is sold as a fruit basket. I picked it up as soon as they marked it down. A few nautical accents scattered about the blue striped table cloth join the sailboat. These cute little buoy candles were left over way past summer at Joann Fabrics last year so I got them for mere pennies. I am a fair skinned, freckled red head. For years I had one wish - that was to get my shins tan. Well, I can tell you, my wish came true! My shins are finally tan! When it gets up in the 90's - you know were to find me- I will be out by the lake with at least my toes in the water or floating on some sort of watercraft. I hope you stay cool this summer! Welcome to the 406th Tablescape Thursday! For this week's Tablescape Thursday, we're off for a visit to Linda's beautiful 3-season porch. You may remember Linda's porch from this previous post where I shared all the details about how she and her hubby converted their outside patio area to a mosquito-free space they enjoy all year around: An Ordinary Patio Becomes a Beautiful Three-Season Porch Linda changes up the decor on her porch for the seasons and holidays throughout the year. Last summer she went with a soft palette in shades of aqua blue. Sooo relaxing and pretty! This year

Pat decided to challenge herself and come up with a month of "seaside" tablescapes. She thought it would be fun to see how many different tablescapes in the same theme she could come up with. So here's the first table:. For the first seaside table, Pat mixed Fiesta(ware) and classic Otagiri "Shell" dinnerware Before setting the table, Pat draped a fishnet over a white tablecloth and set down navy blue place mats Flatware is "Antiqua Frost" by Towle The accent/salad plate is by Otagiri - it's a beautiful white, thin porcelain shell shape The dinner plate is newer "Cobalt" Fiesta(ware) The first charger is a "White" Fiesta(ware) Chop Plate These over-sized wicker-like chargers are from Costco years ago Although Pat didn't use cups on the table, I wanted to show what the shape was like To continue the seaside/shell theme, Pat used these silver shell napkin rings from Tuesday Morning The centerpiece consisted of a sailboat filled with shells and small white lanterns Instead of candles, Pat used tea lights on a shell One last look Where it came from: Fish Netting and Assorted Shells - from Michael's Navy Blue Place Mats - from Bed, Bath, and Beyond several years ago Wicker Chargers - from Costco years ago Charger - "White" Fiesta(ware) Chop Plate by Homer Laughlin from Replacements.com Dinner Plate - Newer "Cobalt" Fiesta(ware) by Homer Laughlin from Macy's Shell Accent and Bread/Butter Plate - "Shell" by Otagiri from Anglin's (a local second hand store) years ago Flatware - "Antiqua Frost" by Towle from Tuesday Morning last year Blue Water Goblet - from the Dollar Tree three or four years ago (but still available) Navy Blue Napkin - from Pier 1 last year Silver Shell Napkin Ring - from Tuesday Morning two years ago Centerpiece Boat and Rope Balls - from Pier 1 last year White Lanterns - from Target many years ago We will be joining the following Blog parties this week: "Dishing It! & Digging It!" at Rustic & Refined this Sunday: http://www.rustic-refined.com/ "Tablescape Thursday" at Between Naps on the Porch: http://betweennapsontheporch.net/ The complete place setting - I was lucky enough to find a complete set for eight years ago at a second hand store
