What is an octahedron. Learn how to find the volume and surface area of a regular octahedron with formulas, solved examples, and diagrams.
The octahedron: breath I have wanted this geometry in my catalog for a very long time! I love the elegance and airy aesthetic of this geometry. It was the wish to offer it to a friend who practices breathing and who has been pushing me to do so for some time that triggered the process of making it. In my eyes, it is the geometry most suited to this practice to create a dynamic and comfortable space to flourish in the breath (and apnea). The octahedron, whose 8 faces are equilateral triangles, is one of the Platonic solids. These are polyhedra that are both regular and convex and can all fit into a sphere. For Plato, each polyhedron would potentiate an element... The octahedron – Air It would link earth and sky (2 inverted triangles) and its heart concentrates the directions of the 4 cardinal points. The octahedron is best known for being one of the most beautiful and ancient shapes found in the mineral kingdom: the diamond. Diamonds are made of pure carbon, crystallized under pressure and at high temperature. An extremely dense anatomical structure which crystallizes in cubic form giving birth to the most perfect of diamonds, the Octahedron. In Sanskrit, the diamond is called Vajra, it is one of the major symbols (Mahamudra - the great seal) of the Vajrayana lineage (tantric Buddhism). We can also observe, by plane projection, the hexagram/seal of Solomon within the Octahedron. Available in large and small formats, it can be rotated to activate/amplify its shape wave (it is the movement which most energizes the vibrational space). Placed in front of the heart or throat, cleanse/harmonize the space before breathing exercises, joy in its clarity and offer a diamond to hang. There is a geometry that easily finds its place, making itself forgotten by its soft and airy nature to better illuminate us when we linger on it. A wave of form that breathes and whispers a gentle lightness. Dimensions (tip to tip): Small - diameter 20 cm Large - diameter 35 cm Safety and maintenance, deadlines: * Do not hang geometries above heads in living rooms. Instead, choose an installation close to a wall or place them at head height to take full advantage of them. The shapes are welded and therefore unbreakable at the joints but for safety reasons I always prefer to invite my buyers to work like this :) Do not hesitate to contact me if you need advice on installing your geometry. * Glass is a fragile material, it is possible due to the complexity of certain creations that some imperfections appear, testifying to the artisanal work. Eventually, a slight transparent veil may appear on the inside of certain faces, due to the natural condensation of the air present in the object and to temperature variations. For these same reasons, and although practically waterproof, do not immerse objects or hang them outside for too long. Concerning maintenance, be careful not to put any product directly on closed objects, place it on a cloth, preferably microfiber, before cleaning them delicately.
Decorate laptops, Hydro Flasks, cars and more with removable kiss-cut, vinyl decal stickers. Glossy, matte, and transparent options in various sizes. Super durable and water-resistant. The stella octangula or if you will star tetrahedron is a non-convex polyhedron with octahedral symmetry. It can be construed as a stellation of the regular octahedron, or as the compound of two intersecting tetrahedra. It shares its vertices with the cube of equal radius.

This listing is for an art print of my Dodecahedron light painting, part of the Patonic Sound series. It is a companion to Kristin Reitter’s transformative program, Platonic Sound. My hope is that using my own channeling and open heart, I encoded this oil painting to contain the intuitive wisdom and the magic of the Platonic Solid, the Octahedron. Kristin Reitter is a powerful sound healer, mother, and astrologer. Her work is focused on raising the vibration of the earth. She works directly with grandmother Gaia and her ancient energy using breath work, frequency healing and prayer. I would love for you to see what this powerful program is all about at KristinReitter.com or IG @Kareitter Printed on archival, acid-free, 100% cotton rage - the prints are thick, durable, and museum-quality.
The Platonic solids—tetrahedron, cube, octahedron, dodecahedron, and icosahedron—are central to sacred geometry & spirituality, embodying balance and symmetry.
The octahedron represents the element of air, which is expressed in the throat chakra through our breath and voice. Breathing is a reciprocal process of receiving and releasing life force energy. A…
A Platonic solid is a regular, convex polyhedron. It is constructed by congruent (identical in shape and size), regular (all angles equal and all sides equal), polygonal faces with the same number of faces meeting at each vertex. The octahedron is one of these platonic solids with 8 triangular sides. Measures approximately 8 inches across.
A new set of geometric prints. The Platonic solids are prominent in the philosophy of Plato, their namesake. Plato wrote about them in the dialogue Timaeus c.360 B.C. in which he associated each of the four classical elements (earth, air, water, and fire) with a regular solid. An octahedron (plural: octahedra) is a polyhedron with eight faces. A regular octahedron is a Platonic solid composed of eight equilateral triangles, four of which meet at each vertex. The octahedron's symmetry group is Oh, of order 48. This group's subgroups include D3d (order 12), the symmetry group of a triangular antiprism; D4h (order 16), the symmetry group of a square bipyramid; and Td (order 24), the symmetry group of a rectified tetrahedron. These symmetries can be emphasized by differen
Clear Quartz 7 Pieces Sacred GeometryThere are five Platonic Solids: Cube, Icosadedron, Tetrahedron, Octahedron and Dodecahedron. Each one is a polyhedron, which is a 3-dimensional shape with flat faces. The faces are congruent, regular polygons with the same number of faces meeting at each vertex (corner). The Greek Plato, in his Timaeus c. 350 B.C.E., equated the five Solids with the five Elements:the Cube with Earththe Icosahedron with Waterthe Tetrahedron with the Firethe Octahedron with Airthe Dodecahedron with the stuff of which the constellations and heavens were madeThe MERKABA (Metatron's Cube) is a structure born out of the Flower of Life. It represents the gridwork of our consciousness and the building blocks of the Cosmos. It is the matrix in which everything is contained in our 3-dimensional reality. The Sphere is a solid circle, with no corners, no edges, no beginnings, no ends, and it is related to the Consciousness.Clear Quartz is known as the "master healer" and will amplify energy and thought, as well as the effect of other crystals. It absorbs, stores, releases and regulates energy. Clear Quartz draws off negative energy of all kinds, neutralising background radiation, including electromagnetic smog or petrochemical emanations. It balances and revitalises the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual planes. Cleanses and enhances the organs and subtle bodies and acts as a deep soul cleanser, connecting the physical dimension with the mind. Clear Quartz enhances psychic abilities. It aids concentration and unlocks memory. Stimulates the immune system and brings the body into balance. Clear Quartz (Crystal Quartz, Rock Crystal) harmonises all the chakras and aligns the subtle bodies.
