Weekends away are nice. Weekends away in the country are nicer. Weekends away in the country less than an hour from home are the best. So, that’s what we did one weekend. We fancied getting away, but without having to deal with that horrible Sunday morning motorway traffic. Luckily for us we managed to get a great deal on a lovely looking place called Tylney Hall Hotel. Just a stones throw from the town of Hook and the M3 motorway, and set within 66 acres of wonderful parkland, the Grade II listed building dating back to the year 1700 was the perfect spot for relaxing weekend away. The entrance courtyard of the luxury hotel was a great first impression, with some beautiful detail on the old red bricked Victorian era mansion house. Through the arched doorway and into the reception area with its chequered floor tiles, dark walnut panelling and sweeping staircase, that great first impression continued. The details were very sympathetic to the history of the building. There were several categories of rooms ranging from standard, deluxe, executive through to larger suites.
