I came across the most beautiful room divider this week online and am building a blog post around it – its that amazing. Orior, the furniture company responsible for its creation I found to be just as cool and interesting as their products. The Hex Screen stopped me in my digital tracks. It’s made from hand planed wood and no two are alike, each with a unique pattern inspired by the Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland. As their website explains, the general pattern is created in the likeness of “the geological formations of interlocking basalm columns” which were originally formed naturally during an ancient volcanic eruption. How cool is that?! A room divider is as functional as it is artful and can be used in a myriad of ways. My absolute favorite was one hand painted and made of parchment and wood in the master bedroom of an old friend. She used it as a dressing screen.
