While making this pillow, you’ll learn the process of creating patchwork, making a quilt “sandwich”, quilting, and binding. Once you’ve accomplished these skills on a small scale, you’ll have the confidence to tackle a full-sized quilt! Difficulty: For beginners Recommended Fabrics: We recommend quilting cotton, linen or other medium- weight fabrics. This pattern includes 15 pages of clear, thorough instructions and color graphics to help you along the way. Material Requirements: • Pillow Front: (6) 10” (25.4cm) squares (you can also use fat quarters or 1/4 yard (0.23m) cuts, but you’ll have a significant amount of leftover fabric) • Pillow Back: 1/2 yard (0.46m) • Binding: 1/4 yard (0.23m) • Batting: (1) 19” x 19” (48.3cm x 48.3cm) piece • Muslin (1) 20” x 20” (50.8cm x 50.8cm) piece Notions Needed: • (1) spool of thread • (1) 18” pillow form Tools Needed: • Rotary cutter, cutting mat & ruler • Pins and/or clips • Disappearing ink fabric marker or tailor’s chalk • Quilt basting spray or large safety pins • Quarter inch presser foot • Hera marker (optional) You may sell your items made with this pattern, but only on a home-based, small-production scale, and we just ask that you give Studio M Squared design credit.
