Hand Hewn Reclaimed Barnwood Box Beams for CeilingsThese dimensional beams were hand cut nearly two centuries ago, using hand tools like broad axes and adzes to chop away excess material; turning a round tree log into a square beam suitable for building a structure. A hand hewn box beam is made from the skins of a solid beam. Hand Hewn box beams bring warmth and visual intrigue into your room and give you a story to tell as a bonus. Each of our reclaimed hand hewn box beams is different from the next and have irresistible character and charm. Our hand hewn box beams are built with material from solid American antique reclaimed hand hewn barn wood beams, and push your design over the top. Box beams are a great way to hide existing structural elements or just to add to the room's aesthetic appeal. Box beams offer the look of solid beams with the benefits of custom sizing and lightweight installation.Stop Shopping & Get On Your Way. Request a Same-Day Quote for your Custom Box Beam. All of our ceiling box beams are custom priced and made to your specifications, therefore no online pricing is available. No worries though, enter your dimensions and quantities in the quote request on the product page and we'll get you your pricing immediately. You won't be disappointed, and we won't contact you beyond providing the quote. Why Use Box Beams for Ceilings?Box beams replicate the look of solid timber but have an improved workability and practicality: they’re generally more uniform in dimension throughout the length of the beam, are available in any length and width combination, are lighter and easier to install than solid beams. We hand make box beams for your project in rough sawn, hand hewn, and resawn (which is the antique wood beam core that remains once the outer patina skins have been removed). You can buy with confidence knowing your box beams are being built by the largest vertically integrated producer of reclaimed wood products anywhere, and we make thousands of hand made box beams every year. It's important to know who's making your beams in a time when everything seems to be made by someone other than who we gave our money to. Not here though. Every single step is done by us, done here, done onsite. In fact, if you're local you're more than welcome to make an appointment to come see the process real-time.
