A name connected to its own history. Formerly the public revenue office of the area, the building preserved the elements of original architecture and has become a hardware shop of modern times. Authentic, functional and durable objects of the every day life; simple and renewable materials; natural textiles; products with verified origin. A big space, a beautiful glass roof which bathes the place with light, plenty of objects everywhere. Kitchen and bathroom accessories, furniture, textiles, lighting, paint and real hardware shop products. You spend good time in there, before going to rest in the Smörgås Cafe next door to taste delicious Swedish sandwiches as if you were in Stockholm. A new concept-store is born and La Tresorerie is already a major place to shop for your house in Paris. la trésorerie 11 rue du château d’eau 75010 paris photography by ilaria fatone
Next came a bricks-and-mortar version, occupying an abandoned Detroit garage transformed by Ishtiaq Rafiuddin’s design firm, Undecorated. Called Katoi, the Thai restaurant won wide acclaim before being forced to close by a catastrophic fire—arson was suspected. So Rafiuddin returned. Renamed Takoi, it’s now bigger and better than before.
