Carl Rogers is an American psychologist and author, and he is one of the originators of the humanistic approach to psychology.
I like the last part of this quote. Here and now. I think that's the hardest partβloving each other when we're at our worst. On another, arguably less profound, note, am I the only person who thinks Mr. Rogers should be considered more of a fashion icon? Those immaculate sneakers. Nice fitting slacks over a slim form. A cardigan that says, "I'm in too informal a situation to wear a blazer but my outfit needs some interest. And, bye the bye, I don't care if you think my button-down sweater is lacking in machismo. I'm going to be cozy and make everyone feel cozy, because that's what I'm all about, here and now." Okay, now I'm hearing Mr. Rogers in my head. It happens more often than you'd think. <>next musing

File this under things so lovely, we never even considered them possible: A movie about Mr. Rogers is in the works. It's nearly the best Mr. Rogers-related thing I can imagine happening, second only to actually being able to have a trolley-tunnel wall in my house. The script's story line is currently under wraps, but I think we can all presume that it's uplifting and we'll laugh and cry and zip up our cardigans and cry some more. Mr. Rogers always made us feel safe, didn't he? Except for that one time, out of nowhere, he brought up going down the drain. I'd never even thought I could go down the drain before that moment, but believe you me, I was thinking about it for a long time afterward. OMG, I found it: That really messed me up. My mom had to use serious hostage-strategy tactics to negotiate me into the tub. Yes, I always preferred Mr. Rogerisms less grounded in reality. Like this one: Source Anyway, I'm sure we can all agree that this might be the hardest role to cast of all time. His face is so iconic, I can't imagine anyone coming close to looking like him.
