Rachel Ashwell has been showering us with lovely shabby chic goodness since 1989, and this timeless aesthetic has a romance that endures.
Trendy, bohemian is everywhere! Until the gardens where we want to find this nomadic and romantic spirit. Bohemian chic invades the garden to our delight.
"Peace -- that was the other name for home." ~Kathleen Norris I can't believe that it is November (I know I say that every month.)! A part of me is shocked that time is passing so quickly and the other part of me just wishes it was CHRISTMAS! It's coming though and I love the days leading up to it. I will just have to be patient. I have been so busy lately - thankyou to the lovely people who have been ordering commissions lately! What a wonderful, happy kind of busy! This weekend I have balanced between art"work" and family time and I have loved every minute of it. I haven't had a lot of extra minutes to take pictures this week because there has been so much happening but I did manage to snap these few and play with them late one evening. -------->What I love about my home: the softness of everything, the flowers, the ivory walls, the way everywhere you look there is something pretty, the ambience, the coziness, and all of the old-fashioned things. P.S. I included a my favorite corner of one of my recent commissions at the end. I love the curly haired girl!

**** Please note that these mobiles are all hand made and made-to-order. Please take a look at my shipping time frame to be sure it works with your timing.**** Thanks so much!! This vintage shabby chic style baby girl mobile is made with lots of ribbon, lace, pom poms, flowers, canvas quotes, beads, etc. (If you are interested in this as a dream catcher, there are a couple of photos at the end that show it transformed into one, and there is another listing in my shop for the dream catcher.) The mobile can be customized with a name if you'd like - the 2nd photo shows an example. I will add the name on three different strips of muslin and place them in different areas of the mobile for balance. They are all hand stamped with brown ink. If you would like to add a name, you can add it to the note section when checking out. Most of the material has been lightly tea stained for a soft vintage look. The colors are soft pink, cream, white, ivory and tan. If you would like to customize the colors, that is possible, just send me a message. There are so many different elements to this mobile, but here's a list of some of the things included: *white and tan hand made muslin flowers, with the tan flowers lightly tea stained *hand made tan and white muslin pom poms, with the tan pom poms lightly tea stained *pink and tan fabric flowers - these flowers have been tea stained and lightly distressed and they have a really pretty vintage look to them *muslin and seam binding bows, some have been left natural and some tea stained *tea stained lace ribbon *tea stained tulle ribbon *muslin ribbon *canvas quotes with hanging crystal bead - with the following sayings: -sweet baby girl -once upon a time -sweet dreams -you take our breath away I print each of these quotes myself so it's possible to customize the sayings. If you are interested in that, please send me a message. Each mobile is made-to-order and no two will be exactly alike, but they will all be made with the same or similar materials. The ribbons and trim are hung from a 10 inch wooden ring, and the ring is hung from ivory seam binding. The seam binding is attached to a 1 inch silver metal ring at the top for hanging. The ribbons hanging from the wooden ring are a little over a foot long, and the ribbon it's hanging from is also a little over a foot long. The entire mobile from the top silver hanging ring, to the bottom of the ribbon, is approximately 2 1/2 feet. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me!

"I must have flowers, always, and always." ~Claude Monet Spring cleaning is underway and I have been tidying and sorting - moving things here and there and I thought while everything was out I would take some photos! It all looked so pretty spread out on the dining room table. You all know how much I love antique china. This is a collection of mostly Limoges china all painted with pink roses (of course!). I love the soft colours and the pretty shapes. European china, especially Limoges and Prussian, is all so delicately crafted. I am always on the hunt for that special piece!
