A super simple birthday card with stunning DSP.
I love the options available in this week’s Tic Tac Toe Challenge grid. I chose the bottom row – Leaf, Free, Splatter. I decided to use the leaf pattern from the upcoming Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper, available September 1st as the background to my card. I splattered Gold Wink of Stella (retired but available at big box stores) all over the base of the card. Then I brought in Fresh Fig to coordinate… Continue reading
Mojo Monday 324 I thought I would quickly play along to a challenge I haven't played in a long time, Mojo Monday. It's a sketch challenge blog and gives loads of ideas for card layout and lots of people usually play along, so it's easy to get tonnes of inspiration. My card has been made for my close friend Nicole, who does not resemble 40 at all! Happy Birthday my sweet. Thanks for stopping by, Lou X

Hello again, I am still trying to decide if I like the card with 2 butterflies or with 4 butterflies. What do you think? The cardstock is Basic White (#159228) and Purple Posy (#150887). Two butterflies and the small triangles are Gold Foil Sheets (#132622). I dry embossed the card front with the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder (#152725) and daubered the edge with Highland Heather ink (#147103). The triangles were cut with the Stitched Triangles Dies (#152710). “Happy Birthday” from Happy Thoughts stamp set (#154507) was stamped with VersaMark (#102283) and heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder (#109129) and set with the Heat Tool (#129056). A Stitched So Sweetly Die (#151690) was used to cut the sentiment then it was attached to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals (#104430). The butterflies were cut with the Brilliant Wings Dies (#155523). The gold butterflies were attached with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals (#144108) and the Purple Posy butterflies were attached with Mini Glue Dots (#103683). Gilded Gems (#152478) were added to finish the card. Have a great day!! “Love what you do and share what you love.” lesleyjendra.stampinup.net [email protected]
I got the layout for this card from from Kristi Gray over at stampingwithkristi.com but I changed up the colors and went softer. A friend asked me to make her a card to give her friend- she wanted a girly birthday card that made me grab my Dressed To Impress bundle. I started with the white base and added the Stylish Scroll EF piece in white. I added a strip of Purple Posy gingham paper down the middle and then cut a white stitched circle. I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black and then stamped the images in same in on white card stock. I colored them with my Stampin' Blends markers in Purple Posy, Basic Black, Smoky Slate, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, and the retired Lovely Lipstick. I cut them out with the matching Best Dressed dies and popped them up. I then made a 1/4" white seam binding bow for the perfume and added some Woven Threads sequins for bling. Hope you have a lovely day and thanks for stopping by! Windy Stamp set: Dressed To Impress Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black Stampin Blends-Purple Posy, Basic Black, Smoky Slate,Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, and the retired Lovely Lipstick Paper: Whisper White, In Color DSP-Purple Posy Best Dressed dies, Stitched Shapes dies, 1/4" seam binding ribbon in white, Stylish Scroll EF-retired, woven threads sequins

Water colouring, and what better set to do this with than the beautiful Rose from Stampin' Up! Today's post features creations by myself and the A Crafty Cat team, as I rediscover the art of water colouring on water colour paper. I am having a "thing" for Elegant Eggplant, I love Blackberry Bliss but I do LOVE Elegant Eggplant that much more... A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Rose Garden & Rose Wonder I just had to do a Red Rose and now that I'm getting a little better at water colouring, this is what I created - a simple layered card highlighting the rose itself. A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Rose Garden & Rose Wonder Jan Nottingham's first attempt at Water colouring, Yellows with Mossy Meadow and Elegant Eggplant. What a stunning colour combination - a great effort. A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Rose Garden & Rose Wonder Leanne Slattery created this gorgeous contrast of Elegant Eggplant and Mossy Meadow... A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Rose Garden & Rose Wonder This was Leanne's first attempt at water colouring - well done I think! A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Rose Garden & Rose Wonder OK I cheated on this one, I spritzed it first then went over it with the aqua pen - colours Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie... A Crafty Cat: Stampin' Up! Rose Garden & Rose Wonder Love these creations and have an itch in your fingers to water colour again - it is so easy, ink up your stamp in desired colours - we used markers to do this stamp your image on Stampin Up! water colour paper run over the image within the lines with an aqua pen - half filled with water. use the marker or ink pad to add ink to an acrylic block and use this as your "paint" to enhance colour use the aqua pen to pick up ink from the acrylic block and layer your image, concentrating on where the darker areas or shadows would be. Use scribble motions to that there are no definite lines finally add you detail with coordinating markers again use sketchy rough lines, not precise one line outlines. I hope to see you in class as we will be using this technique a lot more, Yours in paper craft,
Today I am having a wedding free day, I woke up so excited knowing that I was just going to make normal cards today!!!!! My friend has ordered 4 cards from me. Her Niece is 18 and her Dad 65 so she wanted a card for each of them and then also cards from her boys! This is the card for her boys to give their cousin. Decided to go with a cocktail/Sex and the City type theme with the Black and Hot pink, aka Basic Black and Pink Passion!! The papers are from the Night and Day set which are only available for a limited time!! The word Cousin has been stamped using the Just Perfect alphabet and the Stamp a ma jig to get it straight!!! Stamped in Basic Black in and then black gingham ribbon added above it. I put a little slit along the spine for the ribbon to go through. The cocktails have been coloured in with my Stampin Write markers and the colours used are Pixie Pink, Only Orange and Gable Green. As you can see I cut the orange and the umbrella out again and decoupaged with dimensionals! The cocktails were punched out using the 1 3/8 punch and then the 1 3/4 punch. The number 18 is from the Schoolbook Serif alphabet. I have to say this is one card that I really love and I dont want to give it away!!!!! I would love a card like this for my birthday, its just so me!!!! Plus I would also love to be 18 again!!!!! ha ha!!! Right I am going to get a few jobs done now I have made the 4 cards, will be back tomorrow with a mans card for you Jules xx
