About Studio Mirei Mirei is a Milan-based multidisciplinary designer who started her career in her birth place, the Philippines. This environment exposed her to the beautiful world of artisan crafts, but then gave her the yearning to explore state-of-the-art techniques that come from the western world. Graduating from Politecnico di Milano in 2017 with a degree in Design and Engineering has given her more experience in the technical point of view. Her work spans product design, interior design, creative consultancy and art direction.

The lamp contains strands of natural fibre creating contrast & texture that give a translucent nature, bringing to life one of a kind colours. The paper used to create the lamp is handmade by Brazilian artisans from banana leaves and stems harvested from banana plantations, making it an ecologically friendly product. Additionally, the lamp is made with fire resistant, anti-yellowing, and anti-static PVCs. This product is Fire resistant, the PVC used for this s lamp has been tested with the Lighting Association Laboratories and has passed the glow wire test. Fabrics, Textiles or Paper that is laminated to our PVC will become fire resistant.
