We will not be putting up a tree this year since the house is filled with plants for the book, but there's always room for a festive wreath, right? I've been wanting to make a Tillandsia wreath for some time now, but I decided to use some craft moss to give it a more natural 'rainforest' look than the others I've seen. Like most of my projects, this wreath was very easy to assemble and didn't take much time at all. You'll Need: 1 grapevine wreath 1 bag of decorative deer moss (lichen) Several Tillandsias (air plants) Wire or twine Directions: 1. Plan your design. It helps to have a game plan before you start, whether you're covering the whole wreath with Tillandsias or just adding a cluster. Lay the Tillandsias out over the wreath to see where they look best. 2. Attach the Tillandsias. Using wire or twine, gently tie the base of each plant to the wreath. Some Tillandsias have tough stolons or stems that can be directly inserted into the wreath, but others have brittle and fragile leaves. For the smaller or more fragile types, use twine or a hot glue gun. 3. Tuck moss into the wreath. To keep my arrangement looking natural, I limited my moss to the area that I planted Tillandsias. That way it looks as if they were growing there naturally. 4. Hang the wreath on the wall. If you live in zones 9 and up, it's possible to hang it outdoors and bring it inside during frosts. Spray the Tillandsias periodically with a mister, using more water for green leaved varieties and less water for the silver or white leaved varieties. You're done! The beauty of a Tillandsia wreath is that while it does fit in perfectly with holiday decor, it's versatile enough that you can leave it up year-round. Olivenkranz Schleierkraut mit Thymian frisch für Sie gearbeitet nach Bestelleingang. Die frischen für Sie gefertigten Kränze sind vom Rückgaberecht ausgeschlossen. Wir arbeiten die Kränze in verschiedenen Größen. Eine schöne Dekoration für ihr Heim. Gearbeitet auf einem Strohkranz / Mooskranz mit Olivenzweigen, Schleierkraut und Thymian. Der Musterkranz auf dem Foto hat einen Außen Durchmesser von 35 cm. Es handelt sich um ein handgearbeitetes Naturprodukt, von daher kann es leicht Abweichungen von dem Kranz vom Foto geben. Die Kränze wirken in den unterschiedlichen Größen auch nochmal jeweils anders von dem optischen Eindruck. Das frische Grün wird mit der Zeit eintrocknen. Olivenblätter rollen sich dann während des Trocknungsprozeß leicht zusammen und werden etwas dunkler, aber auch im getrocknetem Zustand ist ein Olivenkranz eine sehr schöne Tischdekoration, Türdekoration oder Wanddekoration. Alle unsere Kränze und Dekorationen werden mit großer Sorgfalt und Liebe zum Detail gearbeitet. Dieser Kranz wird nach Bestelleingang frisch von uns für Sie gewickelt, er ist von einer Rücknahme ausgeschlossen. Befeuchten mit Wasser nutzt da nichts, trockene Unikate bzw. eintrocknende Kränze mögen keine Feuchtigkeit, da sonst das Natur Material schimmeln könnte. Es kann vorkommen das die einzelnen Materialien eine zeitlich unterschiedliche Eintrocken Phase haben, sie werden aber nach einiger Zeit komplett gleichmäßig eingetrocknet sein und ein harmonisches Trockenkranzbild abliefern. Die Kränze können in den getrockneten Zustand sehr lange halten. Wir haben im Laden eingetrocknete Kränze, die schon mehrere Jahre alt sind. Empfehlung: Wir empfehlen Ihnen empfindliche Oberflächen zu schützen. - Bei Tischkränzen einen Teller unter den Kranz legen - Bei Tükränzen ggfs. Filz an der Rückseite des Kranzes anbringen Transport: Auch können Naturmaterialien durch Transport und Berührung leicht bröseln. Dies ist kein Qualitätsmangel sondern liegt in der Natur der Dinge. Die Trockensachen sind sehr zart und zerbrechlich. Maße: Die von uns angegebenen Maße der Kränze beziehen sich auf den gesamten Außen Durchmesser. Sollte der Innendurchmesser für Sie wichtig sein, hier einige Angaben zur Orientierung: außen innen 30cm ca. 11cm 35cm ca. 13-15cm 40cm ca. 18cm Möchten Sie eine andere Größe von unseren handgefertigten Unikaten, als Sie im Shop finden, schreiben Sie uns einfach gerne an. Lieferzeit: Jedes Unikat wird speziell für sie nach Bestelleingang liebevoll handgefertigt. Der bestellte Artikel wird dann nach ca. 5 Werktagen, mit dem Hermes Versand, an Sie versendet. I have used a mix of lovely pink straw-flowers, globe amaranth flowers, hydrangea flowers, flax pods, nigella pods, and german statice flowers, on a moss & wire base. This wreath measures approx. 11-12" across and about 3" deep. Your wreath will be made using the same drieds as shown on the 3 example wreaths that I have photographed. PLEASE NOTE that as dried flowers vary in looks naturally that your wreath will have its own unique look. It is also a good idea to check the measurement for the area that you plan to hang your wreath, to make sure that you are ordering the best size for that space. Dried flower wreaths are lovely for indoor display, with the natural flower color very slowly fading to a muted look over time. Hanging out of direct sunlight is recommended, and hanging outside only with protection from wind and rain, as indoor wreaths will last much longer.
