This is a dress design that uses a method created by zero-waste advocates, who seek to eliminate discarded fabric from garment factories.
PDF sewing pattern of sundress with open back. The pattern is accompanied by step-by-step pdf tutorial with photos. Strappy sundress with open back, of low volume, with a fitted silhouette, widened at the bottom, of mid-length. The upside part of front has a curved edge on the armhole, lined with an elastic band on the bottom edge. The downside part of front and back has an attached straight belt, which is 3,5 cm wide. The waistline is situated at its anatomical level. The downside part of front has one pair of waist darts. The downside part of back has a centre seam, one pair of waist darts and a fastener with a zipper in the centre seam. On the side seam, at the hip line, there are patch pockets with a flap. The shoulder straps are 3,5 cm wide. EASES added to a pattern: Bust-line: 0 cm; Waist-line: 5,5 cm - 7,5 cm; Hips-line: 13,6 cm - 15,6 cm; FABRIC SUGGESTION: Main fabric. For this garment, we recommend using dress and suiting fabrics, suiting of medium density from natural, synthetic or blended fibres. A wide range of cotton, viscose, linen and denim fabrics with different textures are suitable for this garment. Lining material. We recommend using knitted fabrics with a stretch factor of 0,85 – 0,90 for the lining. The fabrics can be made of natural fibres (cotton), artificial fibres (viscose), blended fibres (cotton with elastane) or synthetic fibres. For this garment, we used the elastic fabric LAUMA (microfibre). Interfacing materials. For better quality of sewing, we recommend to use the interfacing material. For example, you may use 33 g/m2 density 150 cm, width woven interfacing. The density of the interfacing material depends on the main fabric density. Degree of difficulty: "Intermediate”. YOUR ORDER WILL CONTAIN: 1. The pattern for printing on A4/Letter. You need to print the pattern on a regular printer on A4/Letter sheets, then glue the sheets, cut the pattern and you can sew! The test square for checking the A4/Letter print scale is located on the first sheet of the pattern file. 2. The pattern for printing on a large format plotter. The test square for checking the plotter scale is located on the pattern sheet. 3. PDF-file with step-by-step illustrated tutorial. Each size is in a separate file. Pattern is given with seam allowances. Sirius is the perfect hot weather dress, light as feather: you will want to make it in all your favorite fabrics and pack a dozen in your suitcase for a vacation at the beach. Its sweetheart neckline and billowy skirt will flatter any body type, showcasing tanned shoulders and skimming hips to draw attention to the legs. - Format: layered PDF (one layer per size, choose the size you need) in A0, A4 and US letter. - Pattern pieces never overlap. - A 5/8” (1.5cm) seam allowance is included. - A fully illustrated, 18 pages booklet is provided with the pattern, with highly detailed digital illustrations. - This pattern and its instructions are in English. - Size range: from XS to XL. - Choose your size easily with a detailed body measurements and finished garments measurements table included in the instructions booklet. This pattern works with lightweight woven fabrics (examples: twill, crepe, poplin... in viscose, tencel, silk, linen, cotton, polyester...). The lining must be of a lighter or similar weight, and of a similar drape.
